Does anyone else find this incredibly ironic considering Cheney's medical condition?

That would be my luck - accidentally shoot a guy, and he lives, only to have him croak of a heart attack.

Ok, he hasn't croaked yet, but you know what I mean.

The guy is 78. I'm surprised he didn't die right away.

Man, think what will happen if he DOES die :( Sad times for Cheney.

If he dies... things could get very ugly.

It sounds like it was the other guy's fault.
2006-02-14, 4:44 PM #8
Wow, what a sad turn of events. Even sadder is that the guy is a lawyer. I think we all know where he is going if he dies...

When I heard that they were out "hunting Quail", I thought to myself, "Its about time someone shot that son of a *****". But then I realized they were talking about a bird.

Then I thought to myself, "Geeze, its a good thing this guy was out hunting with Cheney. Bill Clinton would have shot him with something else"... ;)

Update:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11361657/

Cheney claims responsibility. Thoughts?

Personally, I'm proud of him for coming out and taking the responsibility. It's a demonstration of his character that he didn't try to make any excuses or try to bury what happened.

News must be slow. Hunting accidents occur all of the time, with only a blip on the local news for about 7 minutes.
This is retarded, and I mean drooling at the mouth

...you de realize this is the vice president of the US who shot the guy?

That makes this a bit bigger.

In my mind, no not really. A big f-ing deal is being made out of this is because he's Cheney.

I fail at tags.

Yeah, I don't really think it's that big a deal either... I'm just explaining why everyone else does.

6:20 p.m.: The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department issues its hunting accident report, which says the main contributing factor was a “hunter’s judgment factor” when Cheney sprayed his fellow hunter while aiming at flying birds. The report says both Cheney and Whittington were violating state game law because they did not have required $7 upland game bird stamps. Both are issued warning citations.

7:20 p.m.: The vice president’s office issues a statement saying it was not aware that Cheney needed the $7 stamp and that he has sent a check for that amount to the state.

Then you should have this exact reaction for the thousands shot daily.

Get screaming!

No? Don't want to scream that thousands of times? Neither do we. Look. People get shot. It is tragic, yes. It is unfortunate that this happened. But Cheney wasn't purposefully trying to shoot the guy. It was an accident. Everyday I'm hearing in the media about this hunting accident and each account is blowing the situation out of proportion. The lawyer friend is in the hosiptal under care. Some unforeseen complications arose. But I'm sure he'll recover.

Everyone. Move. On.

You're a little sheltered, ain't ya?

Come to Utah and I will take you rabbit hunting. Then you will realize how hard it is at first to keep track of your safety, your muzzle, everyone else, possible other people, and still try to see rabbits.

No thanks. You and those you hunt with sound like unsafe hunting partners.
