Anybody like knives?
2006-02-18, 10:35 PM #1
Title says it. I have bought a number of Spydercos lately, and I wondered if there were any other -ian "knive knuts" around.

I'm not a purveyor, but I do like some badass knives. Pics?

Knives is cool, but Vash is cooler.

My brother in law is in the marines so he has a knife like the one above (its black though). He also has some swords that one of his brothers had someone craft for him.

I like kitchen knives - I can't run my kitchen without a good set of really sharp knives.
2006-02-19, 3:10 AM #9
Yea, the only knives I use are in the kitchen.
2006-02-19, 3:11 AM #10
I like knives, I don't have any (but kitchen knives) but they still seem cool.

I have a Buck folder, a Gerber Guardian, USAF Survival knife (though mine is slightly different - I've had it for many years now), an M16 bayonet, and a crappy free-with-catalog-order serrated folder.

I'd love to have a couple Spydercos.. :D
woot!

They are all fantastic knives, but the two bottom ones in particular are very nice. Sharp as razors from the factorty, and ergonomics that are unparalleled by any of the Buck or Gerber knives that I have owned. The Dodo (the second to last), does not look very pretty, but it feels amazing and functions beautifully.

I've got a couple (besides the usual Swiss Army's). A nice black combat knife, and a cool folder. Bud K has some pretty cool stuff.

I've got one that's very similar to that. Bare metal blade, though, and I had to rebuild the grip, so it's plain carved wood. It belonged to my grandfather, I'm assuming from when he was in the Navy in WWII.

I'm into knives too, although I don't have any really nice ones. A Schrade Old Timer folder, a Swiss Army knife clone, two whittling knives(one with two very narrow blades), a three-inch folder that can be opened one-handed, and a two-inch folder that can be both opened and closed one handed.

I went to a dollar store once and bought 25 flip blade knives. I went around for the next week throwing them at random wooden objects. Mostly trees. That was fun :p and now i'm better at throwing them
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I recommend Spydercos, overlord. High quality, but not too expensive.

I have a Swiss Army knife that actually came from the Swiss Army, but they are just as bad as the civilian kind at stabbing people :\

Tanto swords?
2006-02-19, 3:00 PM #37
I own:

several Kershaw folders (kershaw is great for everyday carry)
a BK&T BK9
a KA-BAR USMC special
a Camillus 7in Boot
a Camillus USMC Bayonet
a variety of Spyderco Folders
a SOG 4" fixed blade (I forget the name, SOG sucks)

and I am in the process of purchasing a Benchamde Nimravus Combo Edged Tanto M2 steel :)

Camillus is my favorite. Gerber sucks, they use soft steel and the blades crack. Camillus, Benchmade, KA-BAR, Cold Steel, and Kershaw are my favorite. Spyderco is good, too, but I do not like their blade designs.
2006-02-19, 3:14 PM #38
Ahh, Helle. I had a bad first experience with Camillus and didn't pursue any more of their products. I, however, love Spyderco's knife designs.

You've got some big knives Helle.
