ooh, i made one of these threads a few years back, anyway, for a small town, two fairly famous people come from here.

Jeremiah Dixon, of Mason-Dixon Line Fame.

And of course, the person everyone my town is proud of, Stan Laurel (of Laurel & Hardy), who went to the same school as my mam, although he attended about 50 years earlier or so, heh.

No idea. Wikipedia says nothing of people who come from here, but as my borough is rather trendy (the nice bits, anyway), we've had some famous residents:

Quote:
Tony Blair, Prime Minister, once lived here (in 1 Richmond Crescent, Barnsbury). Other famous residents include the writers George Orwell and Douglas Adams, playwright Joe Orton, politician Boris Johnson, and pop musicians Dido and David Gray.

I think this thread is discriminatory against people who don't come from a town.

However, I'm currently residing in Toronto so I'll claim that as my adopted city. Thus, notable actors from this fine city include:

Dan Akroyd
John Candy
Jim Carrey
Hayden Christensen
Rachel McAdams
Mike Myers
Colin Mochrie
Keanu Reeves

Yay.

If I'm correct (I used to be obsessed with Brad Pitt back in 5th & 6th grade) he never graduated from college. He left with like a class left to take, and just went to Cali to do film, and worked odd jobs like El Pollo Loco where he'd dress up as the chicken outside the restaraunt lmao (yes its sad that I know this)

But while he was in college he did do a calendar as like one of the guys of the month. its cool that he went to your university

Yeah I also got Satellite Beach (where I went to school) is where I dream of Jennie was based on...(it is a sort of weird warped place...u can only say that if u grow up there)

and I know in Cocoa/ Satellite Beach Kelly SLater (famous surfer) goes all the time to surf, knew guys in my school who'd hang out with him

As well as Mark from The REal World Or Road Rules (one of the first groups of The Real World/Road Rules, he's always winning in the ROad Rules Real WOrld Matches) went to my high school in Satellite, and I know people were always saying that they'd see him at the grocery store etc

Well, I guess Girard, KS was once a major center for the socialist movement in the midwest, and Eugene V. Debs even accepted one of his Presidential nominations in front of the courthouse. Plus, Upton Sinclair wrote The Jungle on commision from a socialist paper (The Appeal to Reason) based here. And Emanuel Haldeman-Julius lived and printed the Little Blue Book series in Girard. The only other relatively famous people who come from Girard are Dennis Franchione and Ron Kramer (at least according to Wikipedia). Still, not bad for a town of less than 3,000 people.
