We're sending someone in to negotiate!

*BANG!* Anybody else want to negotiate?

Wh-where did he learn to negotiate like that?

I wonder...

I need to see that movie again.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh *10 seconds later* HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Let me explain. Life, which you so nobly serve, comes from destruction, disorder and chaos. Take this empty glass. Here it is, peaceful, serene and boring. But if it is... *shatter* destroyed... *robots enter and clean* Look at all these little things. So busy now. Notice how each one is useful. What a lovely ballet ensues so full of form and color. Now, think about all those people that created them. Technicians, engineers, hundreds of people who'll be able to feed their children tonight so those children can grow up big and strong and have little teeny weeny children of their own, and so on and so forth. Thus, adding to the great chain... of life.

IMDB incorrectly shows her name as "LeeLoo" when in fact the credits spell it "Lilu" and, no coincidence, my cat's name is Lilu:

Yes, you did miss something. You missed...

The ZF-1.
It's light. Handle's adjustable for easy carrying, good for righties and lefties. Breaks down into four parts, undetectable by x-ray, ideal for quick, discreet interventions. A word on firepower. Titanium recharger, three thousand round clip with bursts of three to three hundred, and with the Replay button - another Zorg invention - it's even easier.
One shot... And Replay sends every following shot to the same location!
And to finish the job, all the Zorg oldies-but-goldies. Rocket launcher...
Arrow launcher, with exploding or poisonous gas heads...
Very practical.
Our famous net launcher...
The always efficient flame-thrower... My favorite.
And for the Grand Finale, the all new Ice Cube System!

(ok, I cheated on that one)

The screenplay was written in her language, so she knew what to say.

I think she was able to understand English (she seems to understand what Dallas is saying anyway), it's just that she doesn't speak at all/much. I could be wrong though. And a line I like...

Korben Dallas: Whoa, lady, I only speak two languages, English and bad English.

No, right at the beginning, he's talking to her and she's not understanding, but she somehow manages to read it.

arg!!

that's my point. they always just can. but in the fifth element they tried to be clever and have her learn it, but she isn't given any cue to learn it from, she can just somehow read it, even though she can neither speak nor understand it.

The aliens ALWAYS speak english.

Case in point: The Goa'uld (save Ra). Presumably none of the System Lords visited Earth after being ousted. Yet they all speak English as if native!
