Another Massassi Birthday?
2006-03-27, 12:09 PM #41
How do you lurk for 6 years?
2006-03-27, 12:17 PM #42
I haven't seen much need to post anything. It's funny how much this place has changed, though. Someone should make a thread highlighting all the major or memorable events of the past 8 years.

I've been semi-lurking since '99, too. I've come and gone, but you never really leave Massassi.

Hard to believe I've been coming here since sixth grade. I remember my very first thread; Brian set me straight with some HOMming issues.

Happy Birthday, Massassi!

Hey I lurked for about a year before joining too. Funny thing is, I thought Massassi was older somehow. I've had some hysterical times in the chat, there was a good chunk of time I was on there quite regularly. Now I'm an occasional stopper-by. I still hit up the main site daily. It's in my folder I open up in tabs once a day with sites I check up on. (Yay Firefox). I met some great people here online like MaDa, who seriously had an impact on my life, as we know he has on many of us. This is a great place.

Long live Massassi!

Aside from my silly name (there's a long story involving the early internet as to why I have it), I used to go by my regular name Timothy on the chat.

So signed with a tip of the hat,

-Timothy

It's been so long since I've logged into my massassi username I had to reset my password, but I thought that a birthday was as good a reason as any to reactivate.

Massassi was the first site I found dedicated to editing in all its forms and because of this great place, I'm on my way to a career in 3d design and animation. Here's looking forward to many more awesome years!

Happy Birthday Massassi!

Someone mentioned the lack of a Wikipedia page. That's true, but Massassi is mentioned in the one for JK (probably JO and JA too, but I didn't check).

First, I just downloaded mods of the site without regard the forum. Then, I signed up in 2000 but lurked for like maybe 2 yrs. I started actively posting probably around the advent of JO.

That thread went on forever! I think I logged in like 3 posts under that thread, but that was nothing compared to the thousands.

Looking back over the last 5 years I've spent at the Massassi Temple (on and off, obviously :p ) I honestly can't remember anything significant happening. I know I got into a lot of fights with people, I remember working my *** off to try and make better models than Hellcat (which never happened), I remember being a chatop and a showcase forum moderator, and then I remember taking a joke too far and using a brief lapse in Massassi's command structure to post a thread filled with shemale bondage porn in every forum on this website. So yeah, nothing significant.

I fully expect this account to be deleted and my IP to be banned after I post this, and I don't even question the reasoning behind that likely decision. My sole reason for posting in this thread is one of nostalgia. This website was a daily browsing stop for me for over 4 years, and over the course of that I made friends, enemies, partners, started countless TCs, nearly finished one of them, and ultimately have nothing to show for any of it but a bunch of memories. I'll miss Kedri and MaDaVentor, I'll miss ThreeDee and WildFireX, and I sort of hope murta is lying in a ditch somewhere. In any case, this site has been much better to me than I've been to it, and for what it's worth my time here was, for the most part, a lot of fun.

And now, just for the hell of it, a couple of my models from over the years:

Wow happy birthday Massassi, that's quite a long time.

I've been lurking around since about '99 I think. My buddy and I started playing JK and this was the first site we found to download stuff. I never registered for a few years and since I went away to school I haven't really visited that much but I've been lurking...

Good to see all the old faces...

Man o man does time fly.

I guess this makes the Dorkfiles about 7 years old. Give or take a few months. Geeze, has it really been that long? I remember playing JK in my parents bedroom on their compy when I was like 17.
