Yes, it has only taken me until the age of 21, but I am finally moving out!

It's all been very hectic, I only mentioned a couple of weeks ago to my friends who were looking for a place that I might be interested, and we're moving next weekend.

So this is kinda goodbye, really. I know I haven't been as active recently as in past years, but there's no way we'll be able to afford broadband (or even a landline) at my new place. I can sometimes access the forums from work, so I'll pop in from time to time, but it might still not let me post.

Or there's the distinct possibility that the experience is so traumatising that I come home all the time and just post from here :p

Anyway, for legitimateness, please feel free to shower me with advice. Specifically on how one moves most of one's earthly belongings without a van.

How far away are you moving? I guess not too far if you have the same job. If possible you might want to ask arround and see if your freinds (or possibly co-workers) have a van you can borrow. It helps alot.

good luck.

P.S. the best advice I can give you is stay in touch with your family regularly. Which shouldn't be too had considering how far (I think) your moving. But even still cell phones are a God send.

Yeah, it's not far, 20 mins or so on the bus. We'll be using my mum's car to move, a VW polo (or possibly a golf). not exactly a huge car, but we don't know anyone with anything bigger.

My mum and I have never been the type to "spend quality time together", so I'm not sure if we'll start meeting up or anything. But we play poker with a couple of her friends every other week, so I'll still see her regularly.

*HUGS*

Congratulations on the move - it's a brilliant new world you're moving into, I know you'll have an excellent time of it!

Advice? Hmmm...

Find a good cheap supermarket, filter cheap vodka with a water filter, keep your heating on constant but low (more efficient and works out cheaper), check out things like Tiscali phone offers, we get phone bills and internet through them and it's dead reasonable.

Also, avoid cheap white wine at housewarmings, because people will swiftly throw it up :p

If poor may I point out that LIDL is your friend.

Good luck!

Please don't go. Your drones need you. They look up to up.

Seriously, though, good luck with the move. I have to say I have never liked moving, even though I have done it a few times. But if you are positively excited about it, I'm sure it will go fine.

Oh yeah, I forgot. You can't leave Massassi, because if you do, then we'll be left with ladies like Ach and sugarless and quesadilla_red... they'll move in on your territory or something. You know, like there'll be sugarless inna box and Ach showing off her hair colors and quesadilla_red being the Starcraft addict.

Wait a minute... these seem all too likely to happen... <_<

This thread makes Tristan sad. Happy, though, that you're finally getting your own place; but sad that, once again, I shall not see you around anymore.

I'm going to miss you, Maeve. We all are.

Oh, and if you ever manage to get a land-line, gimme a number and I'll give you a call.

Moving in with people away from parents is great, parties, booze, late nights, girls staying over (or boys in maeves case..... i hope :em321: )

Ooooh, also learn how to make Yorkshire pudding - it's cheap, filling and tasty.

And yes, get a Formanator, for they are the shiznit.

Also, for gaming goodness, Megadrives are cheap and awesome.
