Freerunning is great.

It's a good way to get around on foot if you need to get somewhere fast.

I practice a little. I'm getting more into it now. I might actually start working at home to get in shape. :p

And that video is by far one of the best parkour videos on the internet. There are a couple of others of similar quality, but this is one is one of my favorites.

That guy is very good, wish I could do that stuff. Not much real practical use where I live though.

Parkour > all other sports. I'd love to learn how to do that stuff, but I'm not in that good of shape (this is to be taken that I'm not .000005% body fat, not that I am a fat lazy kid).
I had a blog. It sucked.

I have been doing parkour on and off for about a year. The 'burbs don't really have that many obstacles so I find myself practicing the vaults and the parkour roll on (and off) picnic tables and stuff on the off-chance I will get to do some in a city.

Who's first?

Honestly, being able to do that must be the most rewarding way to live life. Maybe I have poor perspective, considering I'm very limited in my mobility, but being able to move and travel like that must be amazingly satisfying. Imagine feeling of accomplishment some of those jumps and moves cause? Ug, if only I could do that!

I think i may want to try to learn how to do this

but for those interested I found the names of the songs

from another forum i frequent:

Quote:
BTW: The first music track is Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan.

Others are Style Libre by Kenny Arkana, Si Triste by Le 3 eme oeil
+ Belsunce Breakdown by Bouga. But best off that someone from
France confirm this.

The bit from the dog chase is definitely Style Libre by Kenny Arkana tho.

And Si Triste is the awesome first rap song and can be found at http://immondice.free.fr/ (took me a while to find that for some reason)

I have the perfect body type for parkour, plus I used to rock climb, and i'm a fast runner.

Maybe in a few years i'll get in shape and try it out.

That has to be extremely hard on the knees and ankles.

If you do it right, it's not that bad. Learn to roll and learn to land like a ninja and you're pretty good. Actually, I'm not sure about that giant backflip he does. That could really hurt.

And Kirby, when you do a jump successfully it's amazing. I've done some okay gaps and it's always great.

I did it for a while almost 4 years ago. I still get randoms bugging me after they go back through the archives on some of the early parkour forums thinking I must be some zen master of parkour by now :p
It can be pretty hard on the knees, that's why I stopped, and it had nothing to do with my rolling technique that's the one thing I could easily say I had down perfect after several years of judo. I loved the climbing mostly, chimney climbs up entire buildings by wedging yourself in alleyways was pretty cool.

There is a lot of controversy about this sort of thing, but the general concensus is that backflips are not parkour.

That first video had a bit that was the riskiest jumps I've seen, the jumping onto the wall on the roof? Screw up by a couple inches and he'd fly off the building.

Aglar, the main portion is running. If there is something in your way, try to go over it or through it instead of around it.
