How long did you watch it?
Anyone who was expecting it to do something awesome/amazing, read up on who Rube Goldberg is, and what his machines did. Seriously :p
Doh... forget about that....
No sig.

i always thought that they were overly complex machines that at the end they did something overly trivial, like the machine doc uses to feed einstein at the start of BTTF.

I was expecting it to turn off a lightswitch or something, not just end with a pot of steamy stuff.

I watched about 5 mins and got bored; skipped to the end.

Those things are much better when short.

For reference of an awesome one, see the old honda accord ad.
nope.

Some things in tha clip appear to defy physics. Like the 3 tires going up the ramp and the muffiler.

If you watched the german video youd see how they do it-

They put weights on the inside of the tire so they can roll uphill slightly.

Actually, there are a bunch of parts in The Way Things Go that have the same thing happen. The tires have weights put in them and are set at the right angle so that the momentum of the weight as it shifts carries the tire uphill. The muffler I'm not 100% about, but I bet there's a weight placed inside it as well.

[Edit] Arrgh MB!! MB is fat. Har har. Fat MB, fat.

meanie :(((

taken from the honda video site-

Quote:
.....The sequence where the tires roll up a slope looks particularly impressive but is very simple. Steiner says that there is a weight in each tire and when the tire is knocked, the weight is displaced and in an attempt to rebalance itself, the tire rolls up the slope

Ick, too repetative. They lose points for repeating trashbag twisting, liquids pouring (although those were somewhat different from each other).

The ubiquitousness of fire was sorta cool tho >.> but it would have been nice to see something NOT on fire.

2006-04-11, 11:08 AM #51
The flaming foamy stuff was cool.
2006-04-11, 11:13 AM #52
It's called bubble bath.
2006-04-11, 11:17 AM #53
Since when was soap flammable?
nope.

Flaming bubble bath isn't funny, it just sounds like PAIN!
nope.

I would say "less than five minutes" in the poll if it had that option, but it seems to be missing. The closest thing is greater than five minutes.

You just missed the best part. Right after that, there's a wildly gyrating fireball of doom!
