I guess I should go hook up with his ex!.. I really don't care but honestly it does bother me just a little bit.. I've known them both for many years and if I were to ever actually see them together I would get really pissed... but obviously he has no respect for me so I will show him no respect... the worst part is, they started talking to each other through myspace

If she dumped you for him, that's pretty messed up. Still, just get over it. Life goes on. You being pissed isn't going to change anything, so there's no point in it.

And for the record, my GF went out with one of my friends before we started going out. There was 6 month gap between them breakinig up and us getting together though. She also had another BF in that time period and I was seeing another girl as well.

I didn't vote, cuz I don't smoke weed.

That said, if a friend of mine dated my ex, and, assuming that they didn't cheat on me together, and, assuming that it was a messy break, I'd simply say, "I can't hang out with you if she's present."

Otherwise...I wouldn't care.

kirbs, obviously doesn't follow my sense of humor ;) but yes they can do whatever they please but really... it's all about respect, and it's disrespectful to date ex's because when you have certain feelings for someone.. and then later you see them with those same feelings towards someone you saw as a friend.. well thats just ****ed up.

I wouldn't date my friends ex girlfriends because I have respect for my friends and they are more important to me than a peice of ***. There are billions of women in the world go find your ****ing own.

So, once a girl has dated someone, then breaks up and is single, she's off limits? The whole "rules" thing is pretty stupid, but what ever. At some point, enough time will pass and you'll realize how silly is was for you to get all worked up about it.

You're having issues because you aren't over the girl. If you were, it wouldn't be a problem.

Among my friends, it's good form to call the SO (assuming the two of you are friends) of the ex and give them the heads-up, but that by no means means that you can't date the ex regardless of how the SO feels.
