My heritage is Sweedish, German, and Greek.

My Grandfather's last name was Bach, Americanized when his family emigrated to Back. I'm sorta related to the composer.

My father's early heritage is greek, but apparently Jacoby's have been in the states since before it was the states. So that side of the family is mostly bleached out, you might say.

My last name is supposedly Americanized greek. I have a family crest, but I don't have a picture of it handy to scan. :(

I've got a clan of gingerbread men:
here a man, there a man,
everywhere a gingerbread man!
You can have one if you wish;
they're on the dish.

From what I can remember, my surname (Murtagh) is derived from the Scottish McMurtagh.

I think Murtough might be a more common variation though.

About all I've got in my lineage is some Hemel-Hempsteadian butchers.

That's what I get for not being cool. Or Scottish.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I've got a little bit of Scottish, but that's a ways back and I'm not sure of the clan (although my parents do, Dad tracked down the info).

Ah, I'm used to the British date format, so I though ORJ_JoS' post was from the 5th of September.

Yknow, I don't think I've ever heard the name McMurtagh. It sounds a bit made up. No offence. :P

It's ironic that what is killing the thread was not the fact that it was revived from months ago but posters responding to this fact, acting like they had no part in its demise.

I am mostly German in origin, but I have some Scottish ancestors of the Clan Campbell. I've always been told that my Scottish ancestors fought alongside the English agaist the other Scots, but a brief search of the Internet tends to indicate the opposite.
