Alright. What I was aiming for with this thread was a general groups opinion on it (aside from everyone public front of usuxuwhore).

IE: What are churches' opinions? That's something I've wanted to know for QUITE a while.

The Bible says something along the lines of not spilling your seed needlessly. I don;t know exactly where it is, but I think you can extrapolate the religious stance on masterbation. Now, it doesn't say anything about women as far as I know.

Well.. The bible says not to think lustfully about others that aren't your spouse. It'd be pretty hard to masterbate without thinking lustfully. Like, pretty hard as in youd have to be like superman.

I believe the passage you are referring to applies to a particular person. As in, God instructed one particular man not to spill his seed (which makes sense in the context of the story). However, like you, I do not remember the exact story or passage. Maybe I'll post it later if I figure it out.

That might refer to sleeping around though. I think masturbation probably falls in the category of, "do you really have to be told?"

Kind of a tangent here, but these passages are illustrating the impossibility of keeping God's law on our own. It's kind of funny all those jews trying to keep all those laws, missing the whole point. Jesus was basically saying, you think you're good? Well you're not.

Also, wouldn't it be slightly more correct to just say we're saved by grace? Cause through God's grace we are sanctified, but... I don't know same thing probably.

No, I believe there are some people who don't. Probably those people believe in losing virginity only when they're married, too. And that, in my opinion, is wrong.

Actually, I believe the statistic among males is about 85%, and the statistic among women is 45%.

Of course, take these statistics with a grain of salt - as with anything sexual, the non-response bias is huge.

Interesting, but that says nothing about how many masturbate, only that more women are unwilling to discuss it than men. Social stigmas and all, you know. You may have guessed I think it's utter bull**** that so fewer women masterbate than guys. Society has made it taboo for women to talk about; they do it too. Maybe not as often as men, but they do it regularly.

I haven't done it in quite a while now and feel so much better for it.

The way I was taught in Church, I think, is that it's really porn and objectifying women that is the sin and masturbation just makes it harder to not do that.

I think it's really hard to argue against masturbation, and for that matter any sexual practice, without bringing religion into it.

I just wrapped up 45 straight minutes of polishing the helmet, the... let's see... fourth time today.
Some people (one of my female friends in particular) say that it makes them sleepy. I for one get a huge energy jolt from masturbation. Maybe it's just the orgasm that does it for me, but I'm real "big" on tugging it.
I mean, hey, I'm not the best looking of fellows, so already I'm at a disadvantage. But this way, I don't go out trolling for skanks and "working girls" and extra-loose women who'd put up with my company in exchange for whatever small change I have on me at the time.
