I've been wasting alot of money lately, on my RC monster truck.
I have a Traxxas E-maxx. Basically the fully electronic cousin of T-maxx
I never liked the idea of having to keep something that ran on gas in my bedroom, or gas itself in my bedroom. They also require ALOT more maintenance than my all electric E-maxx requires. The most I have to do is charge and discharge my NIMH batteries, which are, I'll admit HELLA EXPENSIVE.
But anyways, I've been breaking ALOT of bulkheads ever since I got the thing. I'm a really abusive driver. I bought it to beat the piss out of it, go over huge jumps, and mow down small children.
So I was looking around, and found these.

They combine the Bulkhead, and the little differential case into one solid chunk of aluminum. They also have an "extreme abuse" warranty. If I manage to bend or break these suckers, they'll replace them $15 per side. All of their parts have this warranty, so I'm pretty much going to exclusively use their parts, because no one else has a guarantee like that.
I also wanted to replace the drive shafts. I wanted something metal, the plastic stock ones are already starting to barber poll on me. I wanted something cheap, because I don't have a brushless motor replacement. So I don't need something that has to deal with NEAR the load some other people have.
So I got a set of these center drive shafts, and some RDlogics (The cheapest of the cheap) drive shafts.
So I spent something like $211.
But I won't have to replace anything other than suspension arms in the near future. As soon as I break more of those, I'll be replacing them with Fastlane parts. Fastlane is not only the cheapest manufacture I've found, but they also have that unbeatable extreme abuse policy.
Other planned upgrades are a brushless motor system (So I can put the kid down the street with the T-maxx to shame.) and of course, MUCH BETTER drivetrain parts to accomodate the brushless motor system. That'll cost me close to $300 to come up with.
Also, I'm taking a micrometer and a caliper to every single one of these parts, and getting the specs. With a little tweaking, I seriously don't see why I can't go into business myself in making these parts.
So what have you been wasting money on?
