That video's beginning was incredibly scary for some reason. Like if it was done in the 1910s or something.

Wow, that was pretty cool. It would have been neat in the movie, too. I always wondered how he knew biggs. It also gives a better feel for how the Empire worked, and the general sentiment for the rebellion.

I found a website a while back that has a lot of the deleted scenes from the OT. I bet a quick google search could bring it up

It's interesting that they cut pretty much the only part where Luke does alright acting in A New Hope.

That's on the Star Wars: Behind the Magic CD.

And you can actually find unofficial movie-versions, where it's been cut into the rest of the movie.
Sorry for the lousy German

A while ago, I saw a picture of the scene where the 4 people are standing on the top of that sand building. It was nice to see the actual footage.

So much has changed since the OT.

You like that? To me this scene just shows you that Lucas never could write amazing dialogue, but still people think the OT had good dialogue while the PT did not.

Craziness!

Still, cool scene. Glad it was cut...dragged on too long

I would so dig a version where that's been integrated. If you know/find out what version i'd greatly appreciate it :).

Yeah, that really made the movie feel more deep for me. I like deleted scenes, they just add so much more feeling to a movie.

check local comic or sci-fi conventions, these versions of the film are illegal bootleg versions so you'd only be able to buy it from a vendor at a place like that, I was at a comic convention with a friend in toronto last year and some guy had a crap load of boot leg movies, including the OT cut with the deleted scenes and even the famed xmas special, they also had a bunch of fan films and stuff on tape.

Alrighty, thanks a lot bro. Now I just have to find the conventions.

He was just being funny. I broke a smile.

It was showing how Luke was pretty much a wimpy kid and looks up to Biggs like a god for being in the academy.

It also explains even more why Luke kept whining to his Uncle (whom Biggs makes out to be a true badass) to join the academy.

Also, it adds more meaning to the scene of the farm being burnt by "sand-people" since Uncle Owen wouldn't have had as hard of a time fighting them off versus the Imperial army. (regardless of how pathetic any combat scene involving Imperial tactics turns out being after the first firefight...)

Yeah, haha.

I enjoyed it.. Good thing they didn't include in the movie though, it's pretty long.

But...Luke never thought that Sandpeople had destroyed the farm.

"These blast points, too accurate for Sandpeople. Only an Imperial Stormtrooper could be so precise."

"If they traced the droids here then they might have learned who they sold them to, that would lead them back...HOME!"
"We came, we saw, we conquered, we...woke up!"
2006-05-21, 11:52 PM #37
The Imperials are stupid, remember that they don't know that Owen could defend it from any sandpeople attack, so any coverup on their part is for naught.

and don't forget, Xizor was there, too. >.>

I know he didn't, but the stormtroopers made the attack on the sandcrawler where the droids had been sold look like a sandpeople raid. I assume they might have used a similar cover-up for the farm (when telling other moisture farmers what had happened to their neighbor)

Doesn't he mention how Biggs is at the Academy when he's whining to Uncle Owen? And doesn't he meet up with Biggs right before the Battle of Yavin?
