Here comes the nosy Arbitrator! :o

Since that (banning halloween because there might be razors in the candy - see previous line) has never happened.

The only difference (difference between razors in halloween candy and internet sexual predators) here is that it (internet sexual predators) actually has happened. like, four times.

However, Spook is wrong on both counts.

Although the second one, which CoW cited, is kida silly, I don't dispute the prevalance of internet predators at all.

Yes, it did happen.

Hey, wow, didn't know that. Thanks.

Because it was part of your argument, and you were talking about it, from what I could tell.

There was never clarification on "it".[/QUOTE]

Regardless, I was not intentionally referring to the comment he made about razorblades, so if you interpreted that way then it was a misunderstanding. It was not part of my argument, and if it were, I wouldn't be denying it.

Next time, know what you're talking about before being an *******. It'll save everyone some trouble.

And I agree. I was, however, referring to myspace. Obviously a lot has happened from the itnernet, but Myspace? Why have we not banned chatrooms? It's sensationalism pure and simple.

From what I can tell, this bill pushes to restrict minors from all types of social networking over the internet, including chat rooms. I think Myspace is just being used as an example of such, though I could be mistaken.
Moo.

Accually, wouldn't the 'underage' Massassians still be able to access the forums, by right of the 'Grandfather Clause' (correct me if I am mistaken on the legal term)? Since, after all, they would have been registered before the passing of the proposed bill (if it ever is passed), so therefore would be protected under constitutional amendment stating that 'if a law is passed prohibiting a certain action and/or object, those possessing or attempting such action/object prior to the law passing, is exempt from punishment.'

Am I correct in this assumption? >_<

Nice try at a personal attack, but the only reason there was any mixup is people don't know how to use pronouns and nouns interchangeably.

There's no way for it to unless they put a censor on the internet like the Chinese did. Really, it's kind of a pointless bill because if it does get passed it'll be impossible to enforce. People will start hosting forums offshore and myspace/xanga/etc will move offshore and the whole thing will be for nothing.

So that's an excuse to be an *******? Oh wait, I'm sorry, "impolite". I wouldn't want that to be confused with a "personal attack".

Either way, you were being an ***. I did and said nothing that warranted that sort of treatment, so naturally I'm not going to be happy in my response. If you can't handle that, then either don't be an ***, or at least make sure that you're not, you know, wrong, before you post.

With that I agree. There's no way they could ever enforce it, even if it passes, which makes the whole thing ridiculous. I do support the principles behind the bill, but I think they need to find a better method if they hope for it to actually work.

Who said I couldn't handle it? I didn't swear death on your mother, all I did was say "nice try at a personal attack". Meaning you failed. Miserably, in fact. If I couldn't handle it I'd go report it to the admins like some cry baby (like I'm sure is bound to happen to me about 20 times today). And I was wrong, but it's not my fault I couldn't realize it. Hint: Post better.

Whatever you say.

And considering the fact that everyone else in this thread understood what I was saying, I think that's suitable evidence that it is, in fact, your fault. Hint: Learn to read.

If people report you, you most likely deserve it. The fact that you even posted this probably suggests you crossed the line and should tone it down.
