It's kind of weird.

See, there's this old lady that we've been good neighbours with ever since moving here (16 years ago). She happens to have a granddaughter who is the same age as I am whom I have never met.

Anyways I was visiting her the other day and she asked if I still had a girlfriend. "No, we broke up in January," I reply.
"Oh, that's too bad. You know my granddaughter is your age and she doesn't have a boyfriend. I think you'd like her."
"Uhh... okay..."
"Here, let me get a picture of her to show you." *she does*

Anyways it continued on like that for a bit. (Note that I'm not complaining: her granddaughter is actually pretty damn hot)

So just today I get a phone call from her.
"Hi Kyle, I thought you might want to know; my granddaughter is coming to visit me tomorrow night and I think it would be great if you could stop by."

Is this a normal thing that grandparents do or...?

Im in one of those moods today so my advice will be to tap em both (the grandma and the granddaughter) you are only young once.

The grandma in the 40 year old virgin movie was not unacceptable.

I had a similar situation, but it was my friends GF who had the idea. I was driving her home (cause my friend is a dumbass who doesn't even have his G1, at 20 years old!) and she was like do you have a GF? I said no and then she was like I have a friend who is also single, we should all get together sometime. I said sure why not, then they broke up a few weeks later.

Thats pretty normal in my family for grandparents. And parents, and siblings, and aunts and uncles. I won't get a moments peace about it till I get married most likely.

Hehe...my grandfather is trying to get my brother to go out with his girlfriend's (my grandfather's gf mind you) granddaughter. It's kind of weird.

But you should go over and see, but it could be one of those weird situtations where the grandaughter already has a boyfriend and the grandma is trying to hook her up with someone else to get rid of said hypothetical boyfriend. >_>
