They say the first part of solving your problem or addiction is admitting that you have a problem. I have an addiction...

Freakin' Warcraft 3, fun and everything. Trying to keep me from going outside and working...I'm only on the Undead missions, and my biggest complaint of the game ever has been that the Undead are underpowered and Arthas is a whining pussy.

I've always gotten addicted to this game every time I've played it, but never beaten the Undead missions all the way. I'm going to change that this time, but doesn't change the fact that I'm addicted.

A year or two ago when I first got the game and played it online with Monoxide and one of his friends in a 3 vs. 3 match, I loved that. The game just never fails to astound me in how fun it is. Pretty soon though, I plan to climb back on battle.net and start playing MP again, and sticking with it longer than a week so I can get good and out of my n00bishness.

So yeah, post your GAMING addictions you have/had.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door is around a 35 - 40 hour game. I beat the game in 3 days. I love that game...so much.

WoW for a month or two, then i hated it.

I don't like WC3, theres too much to do, you can't just sit back and admire the prettiness of the game, because some nonce will charge your base with tons of dudes.

Chrono Cross, everytime I play through game (I'm already on my fourth).

Enemy Territory. Download it, and kiss your life goodbye for a few months.
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

I agree with VVD. I've made my little brother play the game before just because I want to watch him play the game, it's fun to watch.

Diablo II (When it first came out)

I would litterally wake myself up some mornings before school at 5:30 a.m. so I could play 2 hours before I had to go to school. Now that is addiction.

I get addicted to Guild Wars for a week or two, playing nonstop, and then it fades. Actually, since I've finished the Prophecies campaign with one character, my interest has sort of waned. I'll pick up Factions at some point and get addicted to that probably.

I'm sort of an atypical MMORPG player in that I enjoy the story and completing the side-quests a lot more than building my stats, getting the best armor and weapons, capping every skill, etc.

When I first got KotOR, I devoted a full two weeks to playing that game. About the only time I stopped was when I had to go to my cousin's wedding, and I only went because my parents forced me to...

Morrowind for me. I still can't sit down to play it because I know I'll just lose at least three hours of my life right then and there.

I BEAT THE ADDICTION. WoW used to grip me and keep me from having a life, but I beat it. It got real boring.

I play lots of games when they first come out... but inbetween the new ones; it's always Dead or Alive. Right now it's DOA4 of course; but I've been doing this since DOA2Hardcore.

I used to be addicted to WoW but that game has gone down hill so badly in the past few months that I don't give a rat's *** about that game anymore. The endgame raiding is absolutely ridiculous. It's like a damn freaking job! Hell, you have to APPLY FOR A FREAKING GUILD BY SUBMITING AN APPLICATION just to get the opportunity just to play the game endgame. To me, that's ridiculous. Games should be meant to be a fun past time, not a freaking second job.

For a while, I got bored of Guild Wars and played other games but lately, for about a month or so now, I've got back into the game and having a good time playing through the prophecies campaign and some random PvPing. I got 3 characters to ascension now and 2 of them have already "beaten the game". I just need to save up some money now so I can get the 15k armors for them. I just need to find a really good guild now so I can start playing some GvG again. That part of the game is where Guild Wars really shines.

For the last week and a half I've been pretty addicted to Minesweeper. I never really bothered with the game or understood it until that time, but when I actually learned it I probably wasted at least 2 hours a day trying to beat my own records.

I'm dead serious too.

If I even put it in the console, I'll play for probably 3 or 4 hours, or until someone tells me to stop. Vice City. It'd be San Andreas, but driving on the PC is so freaking annoying that I can only stand that game for about 10 minutes.

I think it's the open endedness of it. I can do ANYTHING I want. I like San Andreas when I have full stats because I can run everywhere and do a little free running. THAT'S fun.

The day they make a wide open world like San Andreas, and then include a free running game... I'll be in heaven. Especially if they rip out all of the tony hawks pro skater points system, and don't overdo it with the tricks. If they make the trick system REALLY open ended, so you can invent your own tricks and try to make gaps that they didn't INTEND to be made, or weren't designed for player interaction, I'll seriously devote my life to having fun in that game. Can you imagine the experience of just finding a new part of the city to trick in? If you made it so you couldn't hurt eachother, or could even bounce off of eachother, an MMO-style world would be SO freaking awesome. You could meet up with some random people, try to do the same tricks. Maybe have very lose stats to the players that fluctuate. That is, you can gain muscles, so you can lift yourself easier, but that makes you slower. That way you wouldn't try to "level up" but instead "train" for a specific trick or jump or move. MAN that'd be an awesome game.

See, it doesn't bother me when I know the boss and most of the guild doesn't, because I still get that really good feeling when you've wiped on the boss 5 times and then you finally down him.

I'm thinking we should start a WoW Anonymous rehab clinic.

Diablo II is the game that has had me addicted the longest/most severely. It's pretty close to gaming perfection in my book.

I only liked it when I LAN co-oped with a couple of friends. Otherwise it was just click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click.

To each his own. I happened to find the game rich in strategy, regardless of the amount of clickage required.

Well, I'm not really "addicted" to anything at the moment (though I could be in Oblivion denial). However, I used to be a slave to HL mods, especially Existence. Ah, there was nothing quite like hiding behind the generator room door on Highway, blasting cocky Agents who had just blown all their cash on an XM. Or camping the roofs with a sniper on Hardline. Good times, good times.

Actually, it's kind of scary that I actually remember all that terminology. I mean it's been what, two or three years since there were any servers active?

Mount & Blade . I seem to play that far more than other games that I are 2-3 times more expensive.
Same goes for the Battlefield series.
I've played through sections of Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb because the fist-fighting is so incredibly fun.
I also showed off Prince of Persia: Shadows of Time to lots of people, especially the long acrobatic sections, probably beating it three times in total.

I'm not trying to be insulting, I'm genuinely innocently curious. How much would your enjoyment of the freedom of parkour (not that no one else enjoys it, quite the opposite) correlate with the fact that you're weelchair-bound and physically very dependent on other people for life? Do you see games as an opportunity (more so than for others) to truly release yourself from your physical limitations? Not just parkour/free-running, but also for simple common physical "micro-events" in games like scaling a large ladder or walking along a ledge pressed against a wall. Do you get an extra kick out of it?

I mean, you seemed dissapointed, even with Oblivion, because it was "just another game" and not the game to end all games, y'know, with even more features up the wazoo. :)
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.
