-Hard to tell who the hero is, it's either the princess chick or the pirate dude, that's what I got.

Like FF6j, the game really doesn't have a single definite main character or hero. The story is told out of Vaan's point of view (the young teenager in the trailer), but he isn't central to the storyline.

But yeah, Id' say Ashe (the human woman) is closest to being the main character, because she is central to both the setting of the game and the most important story elements. Think Terra in FF6j.
