Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
2004-06-20, 3:06 PM #1
I just saw Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story today. It was pretty funny. Some gross out humor, lots of slapstick as you would imagine. Everyone got groin smacked with a dodgeball obviously. Sight gags too. If you analyze it and rip it apart I know you won't like it, but if you take it for what it is, a simple-minded comedy, you'll love it. Ben Stillers character has got to be the dumbest man on earth, which makes it even more hilarious. The characters are all so unbelievable and unrealistic, there are a lot of funny cameos, and it's just a really fun film.

It was one of the funniest movies I've seen, and I've seen Holy Grail and some of the most funny movies.

You shouldn't.

It was seriously the most fun i have had at a movie theater ever. oh my god, and the ending was perfect. one of the best movies ever made (naturally excluding LOTR as usual). some people think that people getting hit by stuff would get old... but everyone in the theater was laughing to the last one.

Dumber than Ben Stiller's other character Derek Zoolander? Which I relatively recently saw. Good stuff.

On most occasions, however, I really only see action or horror movies in the theaters, as something stimulating highly either to visuals or has a great audio track are really the only things I'd go pay big bucks for. Call me cheap, or lazy, or stupid /shrug/.

I think I end up seeing 3 movies a year in theaters tops. Almost nothing that is released ever peaks my interest, and I happen to be one of those people who doesn't want to go plop down money to see something only to walk out when it's over wishing I had my 2 hours and 5 bucks back. Most of them usually peak my interest slightly, but not enough to see it, at which point I wait for the library to get it, pay the 2 dollar rental fee for the DVD, and take it home. If it sucks, I can then kill it.

$2? You're getting ripped off. There are lots of places that offer dirt cheap rentals, and there's bound to be one where you live. The one I go to charges $1.50 for a dvd rental and 75 cents for a vhs rental.

Not really. It's two bucks for however many I want. I usually end up leaving with about 3 or so. I don't like other rental places anyway. VHS tapes are free. Finally, a buck fifty isn't that much cheaper than two dollars. A mere 50 cent difference doesn't matter much to me at all.

I saw it yesterday, but left before the credits finished.

It's an absolutely hilarious movie, but the humor is immature, so you won't like it if you are a really serious person. Personally, I haven't laughed so hard in weeks.

That Deus Ex Machina chest at the end was just hilarious. And it proves to everyone who still thinks otherwise that it was a satire. i thought it was hilarious, and stiller was awesome. i didn't care too much for zoolander, almsot everyone in theat movie was an idiot, but in this one stiller can act his crazy self and also act as a nice contrast to the other (mostly) serious characters.
