Duke throws cash at a prostituted woman telling her to 'Shake it, Baby' his gun ever ready. In Duke Nukem bonus points are awarded for the murder of these mostly prostituted and partially nude women. Duke blows up stained glass windows in an empty church or goes to strip clubs where Japanese women lower their kimonos exposing their breasts. Duke is encouraged to kill defenseless, often bound women."

And?

The Daily Show is great.

the first "violent" video game I played was probably Goldeneye, I didn't get into JK till later and for a long time those were the only FPS I played. I remember my parrents not letting me play wolfenstein when I was like 4 and that was probably a good idea. I still don't own any M games but I play some of them and it's not like I refuse to own them I just haven't seen any that I liked enough, except maybe Halo but I don't have an X-Box. As for the rating system I think the ESRB is one of if not the best out there. it will give a rating but it also says why. and it does a better job of rating the why then the movie ratings do I think. Just as an example:"some sexual referances/ cude humor" seem to be on some movies that may only have a few crass jokes, and others in which the humor seems to revolve arround sex almost completely. It's not perfect but I think the game system does a good job of letting people know what to expect.

this biggest problem is the parrents. most seem to atleast do an OK job of screaning movies while it seems most nowadays don't even look at the games their kids play. to quote Hommicide: "Insane jackasses" FTW.

I agree, the movie rating system needs to be revaped. Underworld II was R, right? Munich was PG-13.

We saw munich, and thought that maybe the critics didn't see the movie at all...

What do critics have to do with the rating a movie gets?

A guy got stabbed in the face. There was a dead, naked woman. Lots of scenes of bloody gun violence. Munich is obviously R material.

Well it's a Spielberg film. Saving Private Ryan was rated R despite the fact that it was extremely NC-17.

-At least, that's the common rumor I've always heard, that SPR was originally going to be rated NC-17 but they changed it to R because it was a Spielberg movie.

Echo, it was rated PG-13 nontheless. I was a bit dumbfounded myself.

There was intense gore, swearing, and a nasty joke in there or two. How does that make it NC-17? I thought that was just for porn.

Well, aside from The Wild Bunch back in the 70's that is.
I had a blog. It sucked.

It was pretty violent, 'specially D-Day.

-This rumor is what I've always heard, and I don't very much doubt it.

Yes, I admit D-Day was overly gory. I finally watched it a few months ago. God...disgusting. Great movie, I loved it. Just...wow. Gory.

Has anyone here seen Black Hawk Down? Movie I saw in like 4th grade, I remember it being EXTREMELY gory, and a mistake to watch in 4th grade. I'd like to see it again though, I'm pretty sure it was a good movie from what I remember hearing.

I think overly gory is not as correct as realistically gory.

True. By overly I just meant more than I, atleast, am used to seeing.

Heh. Most of my early exposure to violent games with seeing games such as the first 2 Doom games, Wolfenstien and Blake Stone being played at a friend's house, but I personally didn't get into it until another friend (Fragment, who left Massassi long ago) introduced me to Quake 2. The only reason my parents let me buy it was because i'd already played it before (keep in mind this was about 8 years ago when i was 12), but i was still pretty sheltered for the most part. But in reality, i'm probably one of the most passive people you'll ever meet.

Kill Bill's overly gory. SPR's realistically but still extremely gory.

-Another realistically yet still extremely gory movie: Passion of the Christ.

What the hell are you talkign about? Munich is rated R for strong graphic violence, some sexual content, nudity and language. It isn't PG-13.
Think while it's still legal.
