Did anyone notice/hear about this before?

No, what I meant was that a lot of actors seemed to have had their lines overdubbed by different actors.

Unless that's what you meant.

That happens in practically all movies because there is so much noise on the set.

Should've only been Vader and Beru in ANH. Wuher too, I think.

Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) original said on the set: "Bring captain cargo in the Solo hold." Though they didn't care, because it was overdubbed (originaly by him, on the DVD by Temuera Morrison).

Theres a bunch of continuity errors between ESB and RotJ. The order they arrive at the palace is a good example.

At the end of ESB Lando and Chewie leave while Luke, Leia and the droids are on the medical ship. Then in RotJ lando is already in the palace and chewie arrives with Leia.

But ESB does not necessarily jump right into RotJ... there is probably some lapse of time between the two storylines, allowing the characters to reconvene.

Luke has continued to strengthen his force abilities between the two movies, plus he has constructed a new lightsaber. Both of these take time to accomplish.

Or it is just another consistency error, though I support the former.

Or, assuming little time has passed between the movies, Lando and Chewie stopped at Jabba's palace, lando stayed, chewie returns to the med ship and comes back with the others; this sequence of events also allows them to arrive in the order that they did.

Yeah, there's Shadows of the Empire between them (at least).

They said they were going to meet at Tatooine too, so it wouldn't be far fetched to assume that Chewie and Lando went ahead in an intelligence gathering capacity while Luke recovered, etc.

Well, I thought the post on Ford's improvising with the officer over the comm was pretty interesting... such a convincing and entertaining scene for a "goof" :)

I remember on the DVD commentary, Carrie Fisher was talking about how David Prowse (Darth Vader) would sometimes miss a line and ask for a retake.
Why would they need a retake?
Would the people in the theater point out "OH NOES HE SAID THE LINE WRONG!"
How would they know?
He's in a frikkin' mask!
There's also a few times when his onscreen actions down't quite synch up with the dialogue, such as continuing to shake his fist in ANH and such.

-Apparently, he was sitting behind Kershner during the final screening and when the big revelation about Luke and Vader came up he tapped Irving on the shoulder and said, "Why didn't you tell me? I could have done so much better!"

Mark wasn't told until he was walking onto the set for that shot. Everyone was confused why he reacted so strongly :P

haha!
I'm pretty sure Lucas didn't think it up until soon before either. Otherwise I doubt he would have had Luke and Leia kissing so many times before that, heh.

Actually, Twincest is fairly prevalent in many myths, specifically Norse. And the idea of the villain beinghte Hero's father is about as old as the Monomyth itself.

-Apparently, the only people who knew were, like, Lucas, Kershner, Hamil, Jones, and maybe a few of the script writers (one of which was dead).

What? They killed one of the script writers to keep it secret? That's hardcore.

I just checked that scene. I can see where you think it looks like the enterprise but it is, in fact, not the enterprise. :P

It's some sort of command center in the facility but it DOES have that look.

One of the writers had cancer. She died before the movie even began shooting, I think.
Leigh Brackett. Apparently, there's a huge controversy over how much of the final work is hers.

-And, while we're at it, anyone who thinks the Vader/Luke revelation was retconning is (possibly) wrong. When Mark asked George about Luke's father's fate, Lucas told him (and I'm quoting as closely as I can) "Your father and Darth Vader fell into a pit of lava, and only Darth Vader made it out" which is waaaaay too precisely engineered and absolutely perfectly symbolically true to indicate retconning.

What in hells satens is retconning?

Wiki it.

-I thought all us nerds knew what it meant.

Retroactive continuity. It happens a lot in goofy sci-fi.

edit - jeez, with wikipedia around there's almost no point to explaining anything anymore. The wiki entry for 'retcon' is ridiculously comprehensive. Now I know all about great retcons throughout history.

edit2 - and wow, if you think retconning is neat wait 'till you read up on Soap Opera Rapid Ageing Syndrome! Frigging internet...

Yeah- it's also the name for that thing that happens in 24 or Lost when an inconsequential character from an earlier season turns out to be related in some other critical "plot-twisting" way.

In ESB, when Luke is escaping from the wampa's cave, you hear his lightsaber turn off, but it clearly stays on.

Yet, trained lip readers report only two syllables being spoken and they look like Carrie.

In ESB when the guards drag Han into that cell in cloud city, watch what his arm does to the Stormtroopers helmet as they shrug him off. The thing almost comes off, it's hilarious.
