(...No one, no one's gonna save us now!)
Well I thought it was an interesting thread , so maybe if you all act nice and play together we can work this out.
Think while it's still legal.

I personally think the whole ordeal is retarded.

I do however agree, that the war in Iraq is piggy-backing on 9-11.

Which is lame.

All the stuff they listed in the begining was coincidence at best. There's a conspiracy in everything if you look hard enough and see what you want to see.

Infact, we're part of the conspiracy.

No doubt.

It's more annoying than anything. Especially when you're ambushed by someone with definitive proof that the attacks were caused by four llamas armed with broken bottles paid for by the Canadian government.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.
2006-07-05, 5:16 AM #12
I'm really not so sure. I am aware some of those things have been rebuked, but a lot of stuff still stands and some facts are scary by themselves without even connecting them to everything else.

I think there's enough here for everybody to at least keep an open mind. While accepting everything as proof of conspiracy may be unwise, dismissing everything beforehand is just as bad.

I really don't think it is coincidence that all those last minute financial transactions were made, for one.

Even if it was all true and you prooved it all...

What are you gonna do about it? Lock yourself up in your house? Protest (if it were a conspiracy all in all, you'd probably have more hitmen on your *** than Hasselhoff's got hair on his chest).

I'd rather dismiss conspiracy fools and go about living my life.

Well, as long as you don't care about people dying in unjustified wars, or your fundamental civil rights and freedoms being increasingly restricted, I guess ignorance is bliss.

Its sad that people die, but I can't do **** about it. And I don't think my civil rights are restricted at all. Short of commiting crimes, I can do pretty damn much anything I damn please.

Quit trying to be a rebel.

The problem is, virtually noone (including myself), is going to watch a 1+ hour movie about 9/11. If we did, a lot more people would be able to discuss this, but otherwise, this thread will just be people making generalizations about the subject based on what they already know. I would recommend, if you want to have some good discussion on the subject SAJN, to go to the video's homepage board, or find another website more focused on this particular subject.

I'd rather watch an insightful documentary about 9/11 that didn't rely on crappy ambience music to convery its mood. I'm pretty sure a lot of Loose Change has been debunked as well.

Not that this is the end-all be-all, but a while back there was a thread in SomethingAwful where a guy from the White House answered questions. One thing he cleared up really quickly was that a 9/11 conspiracy wouldn't have lasted long, and he severely doubted that one such thing existed. He was supposedly rather high up.

Somehow, I just don't get the "OMG CONSPIRACY" bs. I really don't. It's not hard to see what happened.

Who cares?

I've seen Loose Change. I don't care if it is a omgconspiracy or not.

Like I need more reasons to hate the government, if it's true.

Take some loose facts, tie them together with a thin string called 9/11, put on some catchy music and voila! Another conspiracy video.

Like I trust a kid narrator to tell me what specific airplane parts look like, how certain chemicals work, everything about the infrastructure of buildings and so on.

And why do people continue to press foward the idea that no airplane hit the Pentagon. Damn them all.

People are always looking for a plot twist. Life is not a movie. Bush did not spend half his life becoming president to fly two planes in a building and invade Iraq so he could make 100,000$ off of oil stock.

Insanely biased videos capitalizing on the unknown or strange factors that are inherent in any situations like this didn't impress me. People have already debunked the "theory". We are not closed minded, we're just realistic.
2006-07-05, 2:41 PM #27
My problem with conspiracy theories is that they quickly grow larger and more convoluted. For example, at a certain point the event being debunked makes more sense than the theory. I llok at the moon landing, read all the arguments pro and con. Realistically, it would have been much less effort for the government to have actually landed on the moon than to fake it. Same for 9/11, when you look at the various scenarios, what makes the most sense?

The thing that bothers me about these (like so many of you stated) is that they are jsut theories. Not by experts either.

Its just annoying every few weeks when someone brings up 9/11 only to accuse the government of wrong doing.

I guess people have nothing better to do

The thing with that is... in a lot of ways, this government does things wrong. And then I'm talking about facts, not conspiracy theories.

I think the Bush adminstration has absolutely proved to the world that it is very capable of, and willing to violate and ignore important international laws and treaties. A shocking display of arrogance on its own. (The treatment of prisoners of war as 'enemy combatants', for one.)

The main piece of 'evidence' for the existence of WMD in Iraq, which was provided by the CIA (!!!), turned out to be a copy of some student's graduation paper dating back from the early nineties. Doesn't look like it was fabricated or googled together at all, does it?

"Blind faith, it'll be okay"

They have given us more than enough reason to doubt their sincerity.

It takes a very special combination of cynicism and gullibility to believe the kind of stuff that's in Loose Change and other such "9/11 truth" garbage. Every claim I've seen has either been false outright, or taken facts out of context, or been impossible to corroborate independently. Don't read the weather report, folks, go outside.

No, it's a valid point. Sanity is a highly subjective term--think about it. I call you insane for worshipping a guy who just appeared and "created our universe", you call me insane for thinking alternatively at the government.

While I'm not saying I support or even understand the notion, conspiracies do happen and it's not insane to think of them. Most of the time minor misinformation leaks out that steers people the wrong way.

Also, saying "Bush didn't become president just to make millions off oil and wage war blah blah" doesn't mean it isn't true. I don't think the guy's the type to gain the presidency just for personal gain, but if he were then it'd be very easy to do, and he would've accomplished his goal. You can't ignore how much oil's been jacked up since his presidency arrived, extenuating circumstances or no.
