you want to touch my poll: do you own a firearm?

and what do you have... post pics if you got 'em

also what doesn't qualify as a firearm? if it fires a projectile using expanding gasses from burning powder it counts

so no squirt guns, air guns (this includes paintball and airsoft along with bb/pellet guns), cap guns, pop guns, clicky noise maker toy guns, etc...

i have the following

Mosin Nagant M91/30

WHAT IF ZOMBIES INVADED, HUH? WOULD YOU STILL NEVER TOUCH A GUN? HUH? HUH?
2006-07-06, 8:06 AM #12
If zombies invaded, I know what I'd do. Ie'd raid the kitchen of food and sharp things, barricade the upstairs with the scrap wood in the garage and sit tight. I've got very good access to the other houses if I go over the roof, and that isn't too difficult if we move the loft ladder as well.

And as for gunshops themselves... well, the only one I can think of is in Maidstone and without wheels and zombies on the streets, that'll be a little tricky.

I don't (and I live in hillbilly country!), but I'd like to own a 9mm.

If zombies invaded, I'd get the ketchup bottle, gore myself up and play zombie amongst the zombie-mobs until I could get away to safety.

If films have taught me anything, it's that when fighting English zombies the cricket bat is your friend.

As seen in TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, zombies can be dispatched by repeatedly bashing them in the head with a baseball bat.

Don't fire that left handed, or at least remember to remove your hand from the grip if you do. I learned that the hard way, and have a scar on the back of my thumb to prove it :o

Can't have firearms in the dorms, so I don't have any yet. I will eventually though. I've got friends that have AK-47s, a really nice Swiss rifle (swear to god, I have never fired a better rifle, wish I knew what it was), a Luger, AR-15, revolvers, etc. Whole bunch of cool stuff. There's enough firearms in their apartment to arm a small country.

I'd love to have me a Glock or M1 Garand.

Wouldn't you rather, you know, have the choice? Then you could pride yourself on choosing not to own a firearm instead of someone else choosing for you. :P

I own a few, most of which are "family owned" (and operated? :P)... Brian's handgun is sexy, I have a 1911 too.

I bought a 12-pack of roman candles. By your definition of firearm, they count.

Pft, weak man's weapons. =D I have no intentions of ever getting a firearm.

And in case of zombie invasion. Oh I'll just outwalk them. I could even get my shopping done with zombies around. Little more than nuances.

yeah? what if they're "Dawn of the Dead" (remake) type zombies? They'll run at you. Then what?

If there were zombies id' take my dad's gun. but then i'd go out to a gun store and bull lots of guns and bullets. but then again I guess that would depend on the stage of the crisis and if zombies were already overflooding the streets or not

I have a choice, I could own a firearm if I wanted to. There's just absolutely no need or reason to own a gun in the society I live in.

I sadly don't own one myself although whenever we go on a cadet's exercise (like next week) there is invariably one of the following with my name on it:

L98-A1 Cadet GP Rifle - a cut down version of the British Army L85 (SA80) restricted to single round fire and with a larger cocking handle. Sounds like a cannon and kicks like a horse, definitely one for the kids. This one is actually a full SA80, best picture I could get, but the ironsight is the same. Not sure why it's leaning on a ration pack, that doesn't look safe to me...

The L86-A1 Light Support Weapon is my preferred bit of kit and I'm one of the lucky few qualified to fire it - real army issue, nothing changed in the slightest. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get to fire one of these bad boys live next week. Fitted with a blank firing attachment it's blissfully quiet and barely climbs.

And on occasion we play with:

Enfield No. 8; single shot .22 but deadly accurate, I got my marksman's award with this :)

But sadly, indeed, I do not own any of these... neither would I want to actually if I had the choice (except for the No. 8 if fitted with a scope) ... the whole SA80 family is notorious for being heavy and unreliable, and I can vouch for that.

Agreed. And if by some chance the zombie hordes do came a calling, I'll just get myself something pointy to poke them with.

I'd love an M1 Grand. I've got an 8mm Mauser and a .22. I want to find some bullets for my dad's anti tank gun.
