Gee_4ce: How hard/long is it to reload the L-98 and the L-86. Just seems alot different than trying to reload a standard series rifle like the M series or AK series.
No sig.

i'd guess it works the same way as any other detachable magazine firearm... remove magazine, replace with a full one, if a round isn't already chambered you chamber a round

No see, my problem was, since I'm a lefty, I don't have to release the grip to pull back the bolt. Stabbed myself in the thumb with the back end of the bolt as I was ejecting a round :o

And it wasn't the K31... *messages the owner*

We used Garands for the rifle team in my JROTC unit. Cemented barrels, which made the already hefty rifle a ***** to throw :P They kick pretty good, too.

They also get dull pretty quickly and wear you out and they require you to expose yourself at close range.

I've got two: a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser, and a Mossberg 890 Mariner 12g shotgun.
The Mossberg I only bought a few months ago. Been having some success with it. Overall a nice gun.

Can you buy badass guns in america?

Like a P90?
2006-07-08, 7:35 AM #54
yes/no

you can buy a PS90 but it's a longer barrel semi-auto version of the P90 with a smaller magazine capacity (30rounds [10 in some states] instead of 50)

full auto is legal for a civilian to own but there are some major obstacles... first is the fact that because of certain limitations in availability legal full auto firearms are very expensive... second there is a $200 transfer tax (if you can afford the insane price usually attached to a full auto gun what's $200 more?)... there's also the standard background check...

Yeah, the assault rifle ban was lifted, so as long as you're willing to jump through the hoops, it's legal.

Don't the Canadians have some crazy law about the P90? Like the gun is legal but the clips aren't?
2006-07-08, 3:52 PM #57
the ammo isn't legal in canadia... somehting about 5.7x28 being an "armor piercing" round IIRC

I have a Remington 740 .30-06. Semi automatic. Wonderful gun.

When I'm 21 I'll be getting a concealed carry permit, to carry the firearms I will soon have posession of.

And when I get to some foreign country, and get captured, they can take my 1911 frame. When they're looking at it, I can explain how my grandfather liberated Europe with that most American of guns, my father fought in the jungle with it, and my brother took it to the Middle East. And then I'll take the Austrian gun off my ankle and shoot them in the face.

God I loved that show, why did they cancel it?

Got a .22 rifle. Plan on getting a concealed permit when I'm 21 also.

What do you mean there's no reason to own a gun? They're FUN. Perhaps you don't understand if you've never fired one but they're pretty awesome. Keep in mind, you don't have to be a hunter or a killer...I've never shot anything living and only ever shot AT pesky birds for my friend's grandparents. You should go to a range or go skeet shooting or just blow some cans off a fence. It's great fun.

Personally, I don't own any guns, since my friend's grandparents have a huge collection and I just use one fo those whenever I want to. But when I turn 21 I'm going to get a glock and a concealed carry license. I don't intend to carry the gun, it just makes me feel better knowing that I don't have to worry about getting arrested if I ever take it anywhere while it's loaded. As a precaution.

I'll go target shooting, and eventually I plan on a concealed permit as well. And by "target", I mean bottles, boxes, pumpkins, and anything else we drag on to the range.

Yeah. I've always thought that target shooting would be an enjoyable hobby.

I just pulled a broken computer monitor out of a trash can so we can all go out and shoot the crap out of it. That'll be a good time.

I own a Mossberg 100ATR bolt-action rifle in .30-06(that I can't handle very well, it kicks like a team of mules), and my dad own a Marlin Model 60 .22(for the pigeons).

In the future, I'd like either a Ruger Vaquero .45 or a Beretta 92F 9mm, and possibly a Remington 870 pump shotgun. A Garand or M1 Carbine would be nice too.
