I'm stuck at this move; I can't see anything else I can do. Can someone please figure this out and explain the precise logic you used to do it? Thanks.

guess.

Seriously, sometimes that's what you have to do. (which is why the hard level really sucks)

For the left corner, I'd probably try the far left question mark. For the middle section, I'd try the one immediately next to the 4, or the one below that one.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

No, I don't think you have to guess. Every board can be done exactly with the proper logic (I think). I trudged a little further along; here's the state of the board now.

I think you made a mistake, the bottom middle, with the 1s, you had correctly not put the question mark below one of the 1s in the first pic, then you added it. That space should be safe.

also, on the left with the two 4's... The two far right ?'s should be bombs. The other two should be safe. Any other combination would make 5 bombs for the 4 on the right.

[nevermind. It could be the far left, on and the middle right one, also. I don't think there's any way to know for sure.]

so it's either:
(x = bomb, o = ok)

xoxo or xxoo

which means the one on the right should be safe.

basically, if you assume the one on the far right is a bomb, it makes the 4 on the right satisfied, but it also makes it impossible to satisfy the 4 on the left, so the initial assumption must be wrong.

that's right, so free, open up that far right ? on the left block, and let's see what it looks like from there.

circled are bombs, explanation coming..

starting form the bottom right;
the 2 only has two choices, and the 1 next to it shares both of them, therefor the square directly under the middle 1 cannot be a bomb. Using the same logic, the left 1 now only has 2 squares that can contain the bomb, and the 2 to the left shares those squares, so the square under the 3 cannot be a bomb.
Now form the left end of that same block, there are three squares that can be taken for the remaining two bombs that the 4 requires. two of those spots can contain the last bomb for the bottom left 2, so leaving that as a 50-50, the top quare has to be a bomb. Work your way across the top and go from there.

kere is one thing you can do...

|2|X|1| | | |1|
|_|3|2|1|1|2|X|
|_|_|_|_|_|_|3|
|_|_|_|_|_|_|2|

If you look beneith the 2112X pattern, you will see that the MUST be a mine below either the 2 or the 1 right next to the 2. That means that the space directly underneith the second 1 is safe.

so click on the *

|2|X|1| | | |1|
|_|3|2|1|1|2|X|

Oh crap. I think I've just proven that sometimes you DO have to guess. Check out the circled region. :(

yeh, hmm... I don't think you'll be able to puzzle that one out. (I'd pick the bottom one as the bomb, cause it spreads it more evenly... but who knows.)

The majority of my games end in a 50-50 guess, and I tend to pick the wrong one :(

but of course.

[you right, and left click (at the same time) on a number, and if all the bombs are marked for that #, it automatically clears all the remaining spaces. (but be careful, cause if you flag a square as a bomb that's not one, it will cause you to lose. Also, if you use that on a # that does not have the appropriate # of bombs set, it will briefly highlight the surrounding squares, making it easier to see which squares are affected by that #]

I'd probably click the top one.

I don't see myself getting less than 999 anytime soon. And luckily for me, the time caps at 999. I'd hate to see what it really is. :P What can I say? I like to take my time and think it through.
