gah, cant find my MS dos install disks, does anyone know if windows 95 would be a suitable substitute?

I used Win98, but it was a real pain in the ascii to get the CD drive to work in dos, as well as the mouse.
I was trying to get Dark Forces going, and eventually I did, but the sound lagged behind the video, so I started changing the sound properties in the iMuse and now all I get is a stack overflow. :mad:

never mind about the windows 95, found all of our old MS DOS, windows 3.1 and related drivers disks.

does anyone know how i should get started.

never mind, i have figured it out.

Also, i want windows on because there are also a few old 3.1 games that ran in windows.

also, i do have an actual computer that I dedicated for DOS games, but having a virtual machine makes it much much simpler.

And MY GOD, i have totaly forgotten how SLOW floppy disk installs were.

i cant get it to run a game, it says that there is not enough memory for it to run.

It basicly says there is not enough conventional memory.

You'll need to make a boot disk that frees up memory. DOS was and still is a pain to get games that need a lot of EMS or XMS memory to run.

every game you mention above works fine on XP, so i dont know WHY you want to so this. the only thing i want to do is install linux on it... LINUX FTW (i cant install it on this pc because my family use it and they would be really pissed off)
