Linux - FFFRRRREEEEEDDDOOOOMMMMM!!!

google.com - When you gotta find something...

slashdot.org - News for terds, or something like that...

...

Actually, in retrospect, no. Those are the things that make my life bearable, but they arent the greatest...

Companionship - Either of friends or women, this is a must. Without others to share it with, life is a waste.

Good food - I dont mean fast food, either, I mean /good/ food...the kind your mamma used to make.

Hobbies - Writing, mapping, programming, anything creative. The birthing of an art of any sort.

For some reason, I laughed incredibly hard when someone put "Stargate" as one of their top three things.

Anyways.....

1. Money
2. Bugs (They make tummy very yummy!)
3. Feces (You make it everyday, and are eatable as a last resort)

I hope you all take the last 2 as jokes, unless some of you actually eat feces

1) girls (aka 'girl', aka 'one girl', aka 'one girl who will remain nameless here')
2) companionship (relates to the above)
3) a sense of belonging (this also relates to the above)...

basically my three essentials all deal with the fact that a person *needs* other people to survive, he/she needs to feel accepted/wanted/needed and to interact with others to exist fully.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall.
