Personally I qualify every emotion except fear and hatred as a drug of some sort or another. This opinion would appear to be validated by some relatively recent experiments on rats that were genetically-engineered to be born without morphine receptors.

There's really no contest. The 3 greatest things in life are water, energy, and raw materials for the operation of our organism.

Yes when i said that i guess i meant the things which bring you think you enjoy the most. Obviously we all need water, clothing, shelter etc...

Why not fear and hatred? I mean, fear often triggers an adrenaline rush, which is a drug, technically. I don't know about hatred though.

Well fear prevents you from walking off buildings. and so on.

-A meaning or purpose in life.
-An impact made on the world.
-Love/pleasure.
