Holy Heck it's HOT!!!
2006-07-22, 8:54 PM #1
It got up to 109F today, which is a good 25 degrees warmer than normal for the Bay Area. Usually, being right on the ocean keeps things real cool at night, but that hasn't been happening at all for the last week. I know this is normal weather for place like Arizona, but it's just not right in these parts. It's over 95F in my houe right now,

Is it freakishly warmer than it should be for any one else?

I was at stanford today all day for a swim meet and it was bloody hot. I think 111. water felt good though.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I lived in Mexicali down in Mexico for a couple summers. During July and August its normally around 125. When your outside for most of the day, that can get really intense.
Life is beautiful.

I was driving back up from San Diego today and the outside temp was reading as high as 113 degrees o.o

California is going to shrivel up and die, or catch on fire. Check that, the state is already on fire. It'll just get worse.

Alright, I've FINALLY found an online converter that actually works instead of linking to random porn. Apparently 119 F is 48 degrees Celsius. Em. Woah.

Yeah, we even saw a helicoptor practicing for fires. You know, where they drop the red powder?

It was a nice 70-somthing today, and the AC turned our room into an icebox. We could've used that last week when it was in the 90's

I'm here in Hemet, CA and it got up to 115 F (46 F) with about 30% humidity. The good thing about all of that is the freak thunderstorms. The entire town was draped in a lightning storm. It was cool.

I'm here in Long Beach, and it got up to the high 90s today. If this keeps up, I'm probably going to start seeing moisture farmers and jawas outside my house.

Kelvin, not Kelvins.

I was volunteering out at Laguna Seca for the Moto GP...standing out in the sun for hour on end in 100 degree whether is not fun. I must've gone through 10 bottles of water and sweated it all out.

106 degrees Fahrenheit here today. Normally it stays in the mid to upper 90's in July and August, so this is a bit of a shocker for us.

It was 113 here in Riverside, CA today. Hotter than hell! It was so hot that it caused about 6 brown outs.

However, a massive thunderstorm (the one Jedi mentioned) came without warning and dropped the temperature down to 95, which was nice. It was super windy when it happened though. It looked almost like a hurricane was coming (although that's impossible here in Southern California).

I live in Sacramento, and it was the hottest day so far, and as far as I can remember.

I think California will suddenly catch fire. I think I am going to head for the coast.

In the Netherlands, the month July is shattering records. It's the hottest month since freaking 1713, when they started taking notes over here.

It's been insane for the last few weeks over here in London, high 30s (95-100F) most days, with alot of humidity the last couple of days plus the hideous closeness of the smog.

Friday night, I went over to a friend from work's house after we'd been out drinking all night. At about 4am it started absolutely pissing down, really suddenly, like a proper tropical storm. I was sat on his window ledge, my feet and arms and hair getting soaked, when the most incredible bolt of lightning came down, only a couple of miles away, I can still picture it. So we watched that for a while, saw a good few more great bolts of lightning. Then, since we were both immensely drunk, we decided it would be a marvellous idea to go play out in his garden. It was truly an amazing storm, and great to be out in it. Sadly, I later passed out still with wet hair and now I can't stop my head feeling cold, no matter how hot it is.

It was in the low 100's all week here in southeast Kansas. Which, granted, isn't all that strange, but it still wasn't very pleasant. But that's (hopefully) over with, because it's a nice 75 F right now

Weather.com has Amsterdam's highest temperature for the last week at 93 degrees F. Your puny records mean nothing to me. :P

It apparently hit the highest ever in the UK this week at 36.

That's about 20 above comfy. The Golf's on TV right now, and all of the grass is scorched and dying. Oh aye, and a bunch of roads in Devon melted the other day.

Well yeah, Holland isn't a tropical country you know. But it's been over 30' C all week. And for our climate, it's extreme. What I meant to say was that it's being exceptionally hot almost everywhere in the world. I heard from several other countries that heat records were being broken. It's almost like a global heatwave, haha.
