Airsoft, the danger isn't in the gun...
2006-08-03, 7:51 AM #1
...it's in the people who play the game.

Last night some friends picked up a few airsoft guns, so we used my back yard as an arena and had some fights. Well my brother joins in the fun one round, and we are all trying to hunt him down. We find him at the top of a steep hill and we corner him in. While we try to get him from behind he runs down the hill and into the driveway, he's running really fast, and he tries to jump over my car....oops.

Yeah, most the time it's a people problem, not the fact that you're shooting other with airsoft/paintball. I had a buddy break his leg while playing at a paintball field, and that was because he tried to jump a ditch, and took the equivalent of a 15 ft drop, making a clean break through his lower leg. It's not paintball's fault, he just didn't look before he jumped as he was running.

holy **** that looks painful, but I agree that I don't really see how that could have happened. Who the hell can clear a car by jumping over it?

I think he was going to jump on the hood and run off the top, instead he slipped on the wet grass, and didn't have enough time to properly jump.

Ran down the hill. Wet grass. No shoes. Couldnt stop, went to jump on the hood, slipped and threw myself into the windshield. The end.

Yup, I've hurt myself plenty of times playing airsoft. Me and a good friend has a 1on1 match in the woods, at night, during a thunderstorm with flashlights. Good fun, but I slipped and torn up my leg something fierce. I keep playing, because I was on the attack with him constantly running away from my leet skills. ;)

Your brother is an insanely intelligent human being. I must say, the outlook of you two's children looks bright.

I'm just tring to understand how he tried to jump over the car, but ended up in the windsheild?

You'd better get that fixed because it's illegal to drive with a cracked windshield.. of course I bet your visibility isn't too good either.

His brother isn't anywhere near as dumb as he is.

No. No I haven't. But great job at making assumptions.

Though I concede to your second point.

You're right, marijuana isn't a drug. It's mind candy. Damn. Delicous. Candy.

You assumed I did something, anything, stupid involving drugs. Yes, you did assume. And doing drugs doesn't count as stupid, maybe a bit irresponsible, but not stupid. Especially not if you inform yourself first.

No, that was only an example. And it's not assuming. It's inhereit in the nature of stupid people to do stupid things.

Save for:
1) It's a bad example, which makes an assumption that I did stupid things involving drugs, which is not true.
2) I'm not stupid, and I don't do stupid things.
3) You're just trying to get a rise out of me. Get over yourself.

It wasn't interesting, no. It was, however, amusing. And if you didn't find it interesting or amusing, you didn't have to post. I think you've given out that advice on several occasions yourself. But you're Yoshi, and you just seem to perpetually have a stick up your *** these days so that probably doesn't matter at all to you.

Anyone wanna take a bet on how long it is before he's banned again?

If I play my cards I can have it done in a few hours, but I don't think it would be worth the time.
