Geez, another person with a scorpion on his back! I have three (!!!) friends with a scorpion on their back, all on the left shoulder. Their zodiac sign is Scorpio, ofcourse.

You're the fourth guy I know with the same tattoo in the same place, haha.

Looks cool though. :)

I'd love to get one, but finding a design I like is the hard part.

That was my first (about 2 hours after it was originally done). The wrist actually doesn't hurt that much, it just makes your finger twitch as they bring the needle across tendons. My second tat is modified i Ching characters that make a sleeve on my lower right leg. I'm starting two tats on my shoulders this week actually.

My only question is... why would you get a band's name or anything like that tatooed on yourself?

That's a lame scorpion, foobar. Way too geometric and spindly. Needs to be a tad beefier and more organic/sharp looking, especially in the legs.

that's the problem w/ tattoos. What are you gonna do now?

my best friend is an apprentice tatooer, i want to have this on my heart!

so i can have prog rock tatooed on my heart!

I quite like tattoo's, though I do have to overcome a little problem before getting one myself (I pass out when I get a needle in me). My girlfriend has three tattoo's, and I must say, the one on her breast provides a great excuse to touch it. :ninja:

Also, where's Morpheus? He never missed a tattoo thread. :|

If I were to have a tattoo, I'd totally have something like this:

I had a friend at high school with a star trek communicator badge tattooed on his chest. Funniest **** I'd seen in ages.

I don't have any tatoos. The thought of having to endure having needles jabbed into me at high speed is not appealing at all.

oddly when u get it, its a rush. like I loved that I could handle the pain. that I could sit there through the whole thing, I didnt cry I didnt scream. the guy was like damn u can handle pain good, this is one of the most sensitive areas. hehe. im fine with pain, I just dont like the site of blood but getting the tattoo didnt bother me with the blood aspect lol

I just think its funny how I was like "it feels like you are slicing me with a knife, and he goes...I pretty much am" lol at least it felt correctly? lol

For me, it's different. My sense of touch (along with all my other senses) is much more sensitive than it is for most people, (it is for this reason that I don't like certain textures, certain clothes, and being touched by people in general) so the experience of me getting a tatoo would likely be similar to what you would feel if someone gave you a tatoo right on top of a fairly bad sunburn.

Here are my thoughts on tattoos (I'll tell you now that I don't have any):

First of all, I think people who get tattoos because they're trendy or whatever are stupid. Guy with barbed wire around his bicep, or girl with a butterfly and tribal on her lower back are as lame as it gets. These are the people who will probably regret their tattoos in time.

Now, people who get tattoos that are meaningful (family name, family crest, symbol that has deep meaning to them, whatever) are a whole other subject. If there's something significant to you that you want to carry with you your whole life, what better way to do it?

My girlfriend has three tattoos. A chinese symbol on her shoulder that means "little sister" (her sister has a matching one that means "big sister"), a butterfly with a bit of tribal on her lower back (yes, I see the irony here, considering what I said above), and a WIP in the center of her back of a large angel (just under a foot tall, I'd say). The angel is eventually going to be a part of a sleeve that covers the majority of her back. I think she kind of regrets her lower back tattoo (she got it when she was 15), not sure about the chinese symbol. The artist who did her lower back work was absolutely terrible, when it healed there was significant scarring and color loss. The chinese symbol had similar color loss problems (different artist), but no scarring. The angel has great meaning for her because of her religion, and the sleeve will incorporate a number of things that have symbolic (and literal) meaning to her. The artist who has been working on the angel is incredible, it's really looking great so far.

As for myself, I'd like to get my last name tattoo'd somewhere, in it's original cyrillic form. I'd really like it on my hand, running down my index finger like the tattoos of the brothers in Boondock Saints, but I don't think I'd ever get anything below my elbows for the sake of professionalism. I'd also like the word "be" somewhere as in my opinion that is the single best advice that can be given for coping with the world. Don't get caught up in all the bull****, don't worry about the little things, just "be". Live your life, exist, that's all anyone can really do. I'm not sure where I'd like that either, one of the two will go between my shoulder blades. Beyond that, I can't think of anything else I'd want, yet.

Koobie - Are you getting something written below the scorpion? It almost looks like there were words tattoo'd without ink. What's the deal?

[edit]Oh, and someone commented saying they don't know who finds tattoos attractive. Different strokes for different folks I guess. If actual thought is put into a tattoo and it is done by a competent artist, it can really compliment the person. I know tattoos are extremely unattractive to some people, but you have to understand that the opposite can be true for others.
