My vote would depend on why you're leaving, and what you're hoping to find elsewhere... If I'd leave the Netherlands, it would either be for South America, or for the UK. But that's just me. I need to know more. :P

Things like the other thread I posted , other legal drama, Terrorism patrol (I've seen cops just walk by and take a guy down because he looked middle eastern), and not to mention that the people of this country will elect the man who destroys it. I'm not sure how that is supposed to work, but I don't like that.

So, **** it. I'm looking for a quick getaway (because the longer I stay here, the less likely I am to get away) and while I'd definately prefer somewhere in Europe, Canada would work fine too. Now give me advice. I'm leaving as soon as I can, which realisitcaly may not be until i turn 21. Probably around then, if things work out the way I want them to.

If you want cheap sluts just by announcing you're an American, Finland's pretty much the place for you.

I guess.

I'd say the Netherlands, in that case, or Germany. Not because I live in the Netherlands, but because of the political climate. We have nutcakes here too, but it's just a little less scary. And people are more laid back. Although I must say that even the Dutch government is increasingly infringing upon our privacies. They're tapping all the internet traffic in Holland these days, for example.

I'm not sure about the situation in England... from the government policies you'd say it's a bit like the US maybe, but I hear there is a lot of opposition to Blair, so... England's always been a good place to be, that much is sure. But so are the Netherlands. Germany is great as well, although I heard Americans are 'less welcome' there. I don't know how much of that is actually true. Impi is German, he should know.

Hey now, if Jepman voted Canada, does that not make him Jepman since he didn't vote for the Jepman option?
I had a blog. It sucked.

Well seeing as I do know what constructive means, thats not a legit "I'm Jepman" option.

I suggested Canada because while the everyday living is not much different from the american way, the attitude and governmental policies are different. So depending on how different you are, Canada would be more familiar to you that most other countries and adaptation would be easier.

I said Canada as well since it is close and harbors most of the other traitors although I would personally prefer Mexico due to the hotter weather and women. Good luck!

I put down elsewhere.

Because it implies that you can move the furthest away. I don't want some crybaby loser near my country.

Dumb laws and dumb people are a worldwide condition I'm afraid. Just the other day I read about a guy who was pretty clearly guilty of raping his step-daughter aged 6 at the time because she couldn't remember the exact dates of her assaults they couldn't tell whether the Sexual Offences Act 2003 that actually came into affect in 2004 applied or not (no laws in the UK may be enacted retrospectively). So rather than at least using the more lenient older laws they let the guy off completely

I've been dreaming of emigrating to Canada since I was a young boy, I'm a British and Canadian citizen so it shouldn't be a problem going there. My family actually tried to emigrate there years back. I remember my entire family getting dicked around because my father is a white South African. By the way he got treated it seemed like they thought he ate black babies everyday or something. Anyway, despite being married to a Canadian and having three Canadian children they turned him back on a technicality, saying he'd have to reapply and he'd definitely get in. This'd require him to fly back and stay in the UK for a few months while my mum looked after 3 kids the eldest of which was 5. We couldn't afford it, so we all came back here, lived on the floor of my grandmothers for half a year before we got our stuff back together enough to buy a house and get on with our lives.

So good luck mate. But even in the more clear cut cases, you might not get where you want to go.

Yeah! Like throw a **** load of fire arms into the rivers so that any criminal who really needs one can get one! And, since UK police have fire arms that are securely locked up, their response time is severely increased, but that's okay, they have billy clubs!

To be fair, only our armed unit has access to firearms which aren't locked up. The normal police don't have guns because they don't need them - the truncheons are fine :D

When we need armed poilce, believe me they're there in a ****ing flash! (because they mainly sit around waiting for something to do)
2006-08-12, 4:48 PM #25
I don't think you understand "flash" until you're pulled over, the cop sees a plastic gun in the back, and 3 minutes later there are 5 squad cars, and 8 police all with their hands on their weapons telling you to get out of your car and spread eagle on the ground (god I love Boise policemen)...
omnia mea mecum porto
2006-08-12, 4:49 PM #26
Surely that'll teach you to have a plastic gun in your car (you ****ing oddball!)

:P
2006-08-12, 4:52 PM #27
Heh, oh, I agree, except it was my friend's car, and we announced the airsoft gun's presence immediately. So, note to all you yanks, keep your gun in your trunk on the way to shoot that *******, because if you get pulled over and it's in your car, it'll delay you for about 30 minutes.

And that's why you keep paintball guns in the trunk, or at least in a gun bag :P

To be fair, though, their response time is quite good when it comes to gunning down innocent Brazilians.
