that snakes desktop looks cool, but upon closer inspection it doesn't make sense (see below). how the hell did the green snake body get there (assuming the snake didnt dig down and back up the ground)? it bothers me.

Even if it is a bad movie, it'll make more a profit than you ever will in your life time on the first day. :D

How can the movie be awful if you go in expecting it to be? Isn't that kind of the whole point? I want to revel in the cliches, the lame dialogue, the cheesiness etc. The movie cannot lose, if it's trying to be campy it will no doubt succeed, and if it's serious, the humor will be derived from that. Win win situation here. And seeing it at 9 tomorrow with a big group of friends, hopefully wasted by that point.

There's not going to be a blow, because no one expects it to be the least bit good. The real genius of this film is that to succeed, the only thing it has to be is not boring. As long as it's exciting, the worse it gets, the funnier it'll be.

Hooray camp!

I read a review that said it's actually a GOOD movie. May the world be saved.

I just got back from seeing it, and I loved it. I've honestly never laughed harder in my entire life. They made it exactly the movie it had to be.

I'll say this, though. The first time you watch it it's incredible. Seeing it a second time, knowing everything that happens, probably wouldn't be nearly as good. Still, well worth watching at least once.
2006-08-17, 9:24 PM #26
It was amazing.

I was definately not disappointed. I loved it.

SPOILERS BELOW:
How about those snake bites? The breast and crotch shots were incredible--simultaneously horrifying and hilarious. I also appreciated the gruesome tongue and eyeball bites. The scenes of pandemonium were excellent too... lots of flailing and screaming.

Plenty of great quotables too. ALL PRAISES TO PLAYSTATION!

Also, if you plan to see it, see it soon. The later you see it, the less enthused the audience will be. The audience is half the hilarity in my opinion. *slight spoiler?* Like when I saw it, and the lady goes "Is it safe?" talking about coach seating, some guy in the audience yelled "NO THERE'S SNAKES!" Much more funny with a good group.
2006-08-17, 10:22 PM #31
The audience really makes it more awesome. I must say, I expected a bad movie, and I am glad to say it was actually a REALLY GOOD movie. It had horror elements with scares, blood, excessive gore, and tense moments. It also had a lot of comedy in it. The CGI was actually really well done, the snakes looked awesome. All of the above plus nudity and MOTHER F***IN' SNAKES makes a great movie. Seriously, it was really entertaining. I want the DVD now.

I laughed so hard when the lights went out on the plane and everyone screamed (in the movie not the theater), and if you listen you can hear a passenger on the flight yell 'SNAKES!' in the background. It was so out of place it was funny.

2006-08-17, 10:23 PM #32
Yeah, I agree. The crowd I was with was a lot of fun. Cheering in all the right places and yelling along with Jackson's famous catchphrase.
2006-08-17, 10:25 PM #33
Absolutely amazing. I laughed constantly. Best of all, the entire theater shouted along with Jackson's "Enough is enough! I've had it with these mutha****in' snakes on this mutha****in' plane!"
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.
2006-08-17, 10:28 PM #34
The theater I was in didn't yell along to it, but they sure as hell cheered and clapped like crazy. You could tell the moment was coming because the music was getting tense and it was near the end of the movie. Amazing.

NOOOOOOOOO! I HATE YOU INDIA!

I may get in trouble for saying this, but my friend is going to try and pirate it tonight so we can watch it as soon as possible. With a group of 3. :(

Wow...just amazing. The movie and the audience. There was only 15 people in our theater, but they were great!! The music video at the end was the best.

That movie was absolutely wonderful. We went in a group a six to a mostly packed theater, and had a great audience to boot. Definately lots of cheering, clapping, screaming from the girls, and laughing hysterically.

I'll probably go tomorrow night as well if Wolfy got my IMs earlier.

I think my expectations were suitably low enough for it to be alright. How did Jackson know about the witness anyway?

Also, the product placements were really, really bad.
2006-08-18, 1:29 AM #40
I saw it; it won hardcore. We had a good audience though. They kept hissing at various points, especially during the previews and external shots of the plane. Applause also flowed freely.

Now I feel the need to download large numbers of pictures of snakebites and make a montage for my desktop. Yay for necrosis!
