Snakes on a Plane

I was surprised to laugh during this movie, but heh, I didn't want to see it in the first place and only went because I won free tickets. It didn't entertain me very much. Its just not my kind of movie, internet buzz or not.

The audience is half the hilarity in my opinion. *slight spoiler?* Like when I saw it, and the lady goes "Is it safe?" talking about coach seating, some guy in the audience yelled "NO THERE'S SNAKES!" Much more funny with a good group.

Very true. Our audience was like 80-90% internet geeks that have been waiting since 2005 to see this, so there was a lot of excitement. There was even some chick that showed up who had bought enough rubber and wooden snakes for the entire audience, she was tossing them around before the movie started.

[edit]Also, looks like the release sparked some Wikipedia vandalism. The top of the article for Snakes on a Plane has a box that says "Because of vandalism or other disruption, editing of this article by anonymous or newly registered users is disabled (see semi-protection policy)." Wish I'd seen what was written.

Rotten Tomatoes is completely wrong about everything, and you know it. Maybe not, but everyone else does.

It has critic reviews and user reviews. You can't go wrong.

I have come to love rotten tomatoes. I kind of want to see snakes on a plane now :\

How come when you disagree with a rating on Rotten Tomatoes you say critics can't be trusted but when you agree you think they're the cat's meow?

Edit History (top center, kinda to the left) should say what. I'd check it out, but it's probably just ZOMG SNAPES ON A PLANE LOL AMIRITE POOLSCLOSED!

Being in french town (where obviously the majority of french speaking people don't hang out on the intaweb since its english) probably was why the crowd sucks and also possibly why it left me so bitter.

haha loved it.

and yeah, when the lights go out and you hear the one guy scream "SNAKES!" haha we were rolling in our seats. they used the same audio clip like 3 other times in the movie, it's awesome.

oh man, and how awesome would a sequel be snakes on a boat. the opening scene is the outside of the plane, all of a sudden the huge hole gets torn off and snakes go flying into the air, follow them down to a cruise ship full of people...

DUN...DUN... DUUUUUUNNN.

Even the "bad" reviews make it sound good. :D

I've just made plans to see it again at 10:30 tonight. :v:

Sounds like a good date movie. Take your girl to the movies and see "Snakes on a Plane" and then take her home and show her a Snake in a Garden.

Oh, I thought you were posting that to mean that you were the white cow amongst the herd of brown; i.e. you feel like you're the only one on this thread who didn't like it.

Saw SoaP yesterday afternoon. Yes, hilarious, although I wouldn't see it twice.

Didn't do well at the box office though. Looks like it might be a flop.
2006-08-21, 2:29 PM #68
I'm seeing it again tonight with my bros.

Number one at the box office!

I'm going again tonight. I convinced half the staff at my work to come with me. Awesome.

I liked it better the second time. Also! Its slowly climbing back up from 62% on Rotten Tomatoes. Its at 67% now
2006-08-22, 10:35 AM #72
I thought it was good. Although my friends and I were the only people in the theater, so we didnt have the whole energy of the crowd thing going :(
Number one at the box office!
Sounds good, right? Think about this. Over the weekend, SoaP made $15.25E6 at the box office on its opening weekend. In second place Talledega Nights: Ricky Bobby (whatever that title is) made 14E6 over the same weekend, but this movie is on its third weekend in theaters.
2006-08-22, 12:59 PM #74
True...

Yeah there was some fantastically bad dialogue :)

IT'S THE SNAKES!

I realize this. It's no big accomplishment for a movie in an absolute sense, but it is a big accomplishment for a movie that has as few redeeming qualities as this one does. :P

What I liked was how they didn't just pick people off one by one, once the baggage compartments opened it was just a total massacre.

It was unreal, best cinema experience easily, snakes on a plane changed my life.
