Why is there a stand-alone multiplayer game? The original had mp. It must have sucked so much they have to give it away.

Or they want to revive the FEAR MP for the simple fact that it came off with popularity from its awesome single-player and not its MP. I myself have owned FEAR for a long time (before giving it away) and never even thought of playing MP. For some reason, now I feel like it.

Either way I'll give it a shot.

I think it might be because of the fact that most of Monolith's games that have MP don't get played by many players. NOLF 1 and 2 hardly had anyone playing at all and I doubt many played TRON 2.0's MP. Only AvP2 had a fairly decent amount of players playing it online. I'm guessing F.E.A.R.'s MP community is pretty low as well and Monolith is trying to revive it by giving the MP game away for free. That's just my assumption though.

Back in the day you could play Age of Empires MP without buying it.. and as far as I remember it was legal

Of course, I have the tendancy of beating pretty much any game in 8 hours or less.
In MP I have the tendancy of playing until I'm so good to the point where I pretty much own any one. Sorry Rob, I'm totally going to own your ***.

EDIT: It most likely won't run... but in a few months I might get new memory and a new video card :D then we'll see if it don't run :mad:

I'm downloading it just to have it. The FEAR demo ran decently on my computer, I imagine the MP will be about the same. No way I'm bothering taking it online though. I harbor too much hate for online gaming.

Actually he's past puberty. Way... way past. At least I would hope so since he's 18. And with 5 computers in the house and friends who regularly come over for Xbox Lans.... I'll have enough people to play with.
