I've been playing GTA too much.
2004-07-06, 5:24 AM #1
Well, a week ago, I whipped out Vice City again and started playing through it. I've had nothing to do the past week, so Vice City is all I've done.

Well, last night, I had the weirdest dream. I dreamt I was driving a taxi, transporting people here and there. I quickly glanced at my left hand mirror and found the oddest thing while I was taxiing (is that a word) someone: a timer displaying 0:20. From my Vice City experience, I knew that I only had 20 seconds to deliver my paying customer.

So I sped up. Faster and faster I went, weaving through traffic. At full speed, I collided with a moped rider. By some weird act of physics, I flew out of the taxi and into a nearby body of water. I couldn't swim! I flailed my arms, but to no avail. Soon, everything turned to white. When I finally came to, I was standing outside a hospital. Then I woke up.

Perhaps I should go do something for once. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

Anyhow...Post your favorite Vice City/GTA 3 pasttimes, tricks, etc.

I like opening up the savegame that I use for cheating, and i enjoy spawning a tank and shooting everything that moves. The cops try to kamikaze into my tank, but they just bounce off and explode. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

I try to see how long I last this way before being captured. However, its strenge that a cop can pull out his gun, point it at the tank when ou're going slow, and you're suddenly busted despite the fact that the tank was bulletproof before. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I also like doing vigilante missions in the tank, b/c I can shoot the car I'm chasing for easy money. I take the tank into the airport landing area, and I do a vigilante mission in there. Easy money.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall. The server had been mistakenly sealed behind drywall by maintenance workers.

BTW, what is everyone's favourite GTA VC car?

I love the infernus. Great shape, and it's extremely fast.

However, when going by coolness factor, I'd have to take the voodoo. I like to drive around pumping those hydraulics. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] It's a shame that its only available in that dark red color, though.

However, i'm still stuck on that rc helicopter mission. Could someone ftp a savegame that has that mission beat? Thanks.

When VC first came out I bought it right away and put more time into it than it deserved, but the funny thing was when I stepped outside for the first time I noticed all the nice, fast cars and wondered if they were unlocked.

I once went to the airport, found the biggest ramp. Went as far as I could in the other direction. So I was going as fast as humanly possible on the pcj whatever bike.

At the perfect moment, I did a stopie on the ramp. I did 2 complete front flips on the bike, and I LANDED IT!!!!

I didn't even fall off which is amazing cause every other time I tried to flip on the bike, he would fall off when upside down.

It was probably the greatest stunt I've ever done cause I went super far.

Mine favorite car is the Deluxo.

Best. Car. Ever.

And a tip for the RC helicopter mission: plant the bombs highest up in the building first, and work your way down after. And if you can, slice the workers with the rotors from the helicopter. It's actually pretty easy if you can get the hang of the controls. GO OUT AND BUY A GAMEPAD.

All else fails, I can send you a save game, but it'll be nearly complete and you'll miss out on a bunch of missions.
Or I could start a new one... email me at andydesrosiersIALREADYGETENOUGHSPAM OVER AT hot malez dott comiez.

I can't really afford a gamepad right now, and i'm afraid that if i try again i'll end up snapping my keyboard in half out of fustration [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] .

I love that jump.

Another jump i love doing is in ocean beach and you start in an L-shaped alley and drive up a flight of stairs. You can jump across several streets with this trick.

look for the alley near the washington beach mall. you will see it on your map when you get close to it. I recommend using a fast car like a cheetah or infernus for this, or better yet, a pcj motorcycle if you can find one.

Then hop on the Ninja I have sitting next to me, and shoot outta the building at 120, fall one story, and take off running from the cops.

You have to buy the car dealership then complete the car list. I think it's the first one you get (out of four)

I know I've been playing GTA too much when I'm driving and I think I see cop cars every where. It freaked me out the first few times it happened.

what gang(s) do you enjoy going after the most?

For me, it's the security guards (p.i.g.s.) on the first island and then the haitians on the second island.

get a motorcycle (PCG or sanchez is good, besides why would you want to ride a faggio? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] ) and on some bikes it can't be done (the angel and the freeway come to mind) , and then while going forward, push 6 on your numpad to do a wheelie, and 9 to do a stoppie. when doing a wheelie, you can't do it for too long or oyu will fall on your a**. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

motorcycles are fun, but you fall off way too easy unless you're riding an angel or freeway.

Many people seem to forget that GTA 3 was not the first GTA game. Before 3, there was GTA, GTA Director's Cut, GTA London, and GTA 2.

There was this really great thing you could do in GTA 2. You could spill oil from your car, so that any cars behind you would lose control. What I would do, is find the busiest, most populated corner I could, and make atleast 10 oil puddles. You would not believe how many people would die from this. It was total mayhem. The best part was always when the cop would try to arrest me, and get run over by his own car.

they're making a new GTA, San Andreas. That should be interesting b/c its set in california
(san Francisco) and Nevada. (Viva Las Vegas!!!)
If that game is as open as the others, then the ammount of space you can presumably roam is mind-boggling. In GTA3 and VC you get to roam a city. In san andreas, you get to roam an entire state.

It's LA, San Francisco and Vegas, esentially a state rather than a single city. In the game, you can also ride bikes I think. The game will be open ended (You gotta think how God awful it would be to play GTA without open ended?). I am looking forward to it.

since its a state, I'm hoping that they will have a real freeway that you can speed along connecting the cities. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

That's the one thing i miss in GTA3/VC, but I can understand the absense b/c logically, its pointless to have a freeway contained within a single city.

I've been having problems playing GTA3. It freezes randomly, and the system just stalls and i have to cut the power to reboot. every time this happens, i cross my fingers and hope that I didn't suffer HD corruption) i've found that not looking at explosions or anything like that helps, but freezing is inevitabvle bno matter what i do.

I've heard the game is extremely buggy on the PC port b/c they rushed it. (I have the Myth version). Strange, b/c Vice City uses the same (if not a slightly enhanced) engine, and it never crashes.

yeah, the cop AI is pretty bad. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Once, I was in the pizza place (forgot which one, but i think it was the one in vice point) and there was a cop inside. All of a sudden, the cop tries to chase this guy outside on the street, but keeps running into the window. Priceless. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

the cop ai is very simple from my observations: cops will simply try to run to you if they have direct LOS and you have a wnted level. I can lose cops by running around corners. FBI guys are pretty much the same, only they have mp5s that can make life much more difficult than regular cops can.

also, did you know that if you get the hunter, you can shoot down the plane that has the banner behind it? The banner slowly falls down, too. It gives you an instant 3-star wanted level. This is strange b/c i was able to fly through this plane in the regular maverick helicopter.
