Hey, I wanted to ask if anyone here have an Xbox 360 and play on Live.

I got myself a 360 this weekend (along with Ghost Recon, Gears of War, R6 Vegas, Fight Night Round 3, and Far Cry Instincts Predator) and will be hooking it up to Live Gold sometimes before xmas. Hopefully some of you guys own one and will wanna hook up for a few co-op games of Gears of War or what not.

I must say, I'm extremely impressed with the 360 so far. It looks spectacular on my 47" HDTV. Frankly, I did not expect the games to actually look this good. The five games and few demos I have played so far all have something or another that is breathtaking, even the colorful, childish Kameo (It has some beautiful grass effects).

What I was also very happy to learn is of the possibilities of backwards compatibility. I can't wait to play Ninja Gaiden, Halo and Halo 2 upscaled to 720p or 1080i and taking full advantage of the 360's antialiasing. Even in these older games, the result should be quite nice.

Just one final note, this thread is not about the Wii or the PS3, nor is it about comparing them to each other, I would hate to see a console war erupt here.

When I couldn't find a Wii, I almost bought a 360 (after I saw the screenshots of Gears of War). I ended up buying the Wii, but it looks like some awesome games on the 360. I still hate MS, though.

Well, I had xbox live but I'm pretty sure that the people at my dorm blocked some ports or something and now it does not work.

I have the free version of Live. Silver or whatever. I just recently got it working.

Aye, I'm hardly a big MS fan myself, but I really like their consoles. And indeed, some of the games are truly awesome. R6 Vegas, Gears of War and Fight Night Round 3 are at the top of my list right now. Extremely good gameplay.

Jesus, we have the exact same taste in games. Getting a 360 soon, and the first five games I intend to get are exactly the ones you listed, except Dead Rising in place of Far Cry.

Fight Night tip: Play it drunk with some friends. Holy crap is it awesome (been playing it for original xbox for months now).

Backwards compatability is somewhat of an issue unfortunetly. Last time I tried to play Ninja Gaiden it had TERRIBLE slowdown, but that was a few months ago, maybe they've fixed it. I use the VGA cables on my 360, and running Halo 2 at 1366x1280 (or the resolution is close to that) isn't all it sounds like it'd be. A game meant for 480p upscaled only draws the flaws out in the game, doesn't look much better and some argue it'd look worse.

I've got Gears of War and Ghost Recon of the games you mentioned. I haven't got to play Ghost Recon much, I've beat Gears of War. Gears is not really a game I'll pick up again even for multiplayer. While it looks awesome, I feel the game is horribly over rated

I often go to my friend's house who has XBox360. We would play CoD: 2/3 and Ghost Recon on Live. Although now expired, my tag was "darth bcline"

I hear the game is almost identical in terms of SP, with some new effects, but the mp has some lag problems.

I'm getting CoD 2/3 for xmas but I'd be up for a game of GR anytime. That game is sweet. though tough!

I've already got an Xbox 360 and I really like it. The games I have for are pretty cool as well. (Gears of War, Oblivion). I plan on getting a Wii on Sunday because I really like the unique control system. I like both consoles and I will probably end up getting a PlayStation 3 in few years when the price comes down and the flaws are corrected.

A recent 360 dashboard enabled 1080p. The PS3 also does 1080p. Don't expect either of these consoles to support a lot of games in this resolution, however. Some games on both will support it though i.e. Blue Dragon on the 360, Lair on the PS3.
