Ignore my post from the 15th. I am a Nintendo fanboy and I HAVE a 360.
Think while it's still legal.
Every PS3 produced has been sold...so about 200k people by now.
How many people actually bought one to keep and play though, and not try and resell on eBay?

I got my 360 a few days ago along with Call of Duty 2 and Gears of War. Gamertag is ReaverPhoenix, and I probably won't have broadband until late this month or next month, so no playing online for me unless I take it to a friends house.

And adding to the FEAR conversation... I grabbed the demo for 360 yesterday and played it. I think it's better on PC. The controls felt wonky and gameplay just didn't feel as smooth.

Yeah, don't think I'll be getting it for 360.

My gamer tag = SaberClash

I love Xbox live for the 360. It's really fun, the only thing that bugs me is that the headset seems to not function very well in certain games. The only games I currently own are Rainbow Six Vegas and Far Cry Instincts (and the map editor provides loads of replay value).

I'm going to go invite all of you now >:D

We need to have a Massassian Gears of War battle.
2007-01-03, 12:21 PM #49
Yes, apart from I'm still rubbish at it - I've only played it twice!

So whoever gets lumbered with me will be spending lots of time reviving me!

I generally get owned when I play online, but it's all in good fun.

As for the headset comment, you mentioned R6V. Apparently there's a known bug in that game that makes certain players only able to hear other certain players, resulting in a huge communications mess. ie. Alice can hear Bob, but Bob can't hear Alice. Irving can hear Alice and Bob can hear Irving, so Irving has to relay messages from Alice to Bob. Supposedly they're working on a patch for this.

Yes. I would be destroyed but would love to play a big Massassi GOW game.

I've been wanting to get a 360 for months... I should be getting one soon.

This Saturday morning would be fun. Anyone up for trying to get an -ian game this Saturday?
2007-01-03, 10:20 PM #54
I'll have to convince Iz to let me use our one TV, but I fancy a bit of it (I'll also have to get my gold upgrade put on, but that should be easy) :)

Yes! Although I'll be utterly pwned.

Mornings are kinda bad, also, on account of I'm never awake for them.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

What do you consider "morning"? On Saturdays I usually get up around 2-3 PM (Eastern).

I have GoW and R6:V.

Jep, I also got FNR3, we should fight some time.
2007-01-04, 10:55 AM #62
Saturday morning means, for me, around 8am (PST). It's afternoon for Martyn, and who knows what time it is for the lazy bum (Ag).

Any other times?

Also, I will be on for a few hours right now if anyone is interested. ProfessorSteven. I will be adding you lot shortly.

I need to renew my Gold account, the trial expired. I'll try and get that through tonight.

8AM PST means about 11AM for me which should be perfectly fine.

Ag, I'd love to fight sometime (let me note that I'm aweful at this game, I'm really not effective with the joystick punching.)

I'll be adding you all later tonight if all goes well, once I'm home from work.

No problem, I'm having a bit of trouble adjusting to not having my old figher (from xbox 1), and the slightly different controller. Note that you can choose different controller configs, some of which use buttons for punching instead of the sticks. I prefer the sticks though, once you get used to them it's really nice.

I also need to renew my gold account in like 10 days or something. I'm going to see if a friend wants to split on a vision cam package, since I already have a cam and he already has a live gold account.

Saturday should be OK with me, I'm off from work then!

Anyone wishing to battle it out in Smackdown 2007, I openly challenge any Massassians :P

I went to blockbuster and they had a bunch of games 25% off. They we're all marked at $29.99 and Unreal Championship 2 was mis-marked $2.99, so after taxes I got UC2 for $2.40. The only problem is at the moment it isn't backwards compatible....and Barbie's Horse Adventure is backwards compatible...figures.
Think while it's still legal.

Seriously, they named a children's game that? It sounds like bad porn.

I'll go buy GoW if you guys can honestly tell me that it's worth it. I played a little bit of it set up at a kiosk at a store, and I was very pumped for its release before it came out, but after playing it I didn't seem all that impressed. The over-the-shoulder viewpoint was kind of awkward, and the gameplay didn't seem much different than any other FPS.

I'm not bashing it at all, just tell me if my first impression is off, or if it just takes some getting used to. The graphics were indeed beautiful, but then again the Xbox 360 is a next-gen console, so that's what you come to expect now for games.

Gears of War is, in a word, awesome.
2007-01-05, 9:57 AM #72
I dont even notice the OTS view anymore, and the controls for getting into/out of cover are really natural, you just have to get used to them. It took me an hour or so.

Is the multiplayer all close quarters, or are there landscape maps as well? Also, are there vehicles?

No vehichles (well, there are in the Campaign, but not worth describing).

The multiplayer is fairly close quarters, although the landscapes are large and varied. It's balanced and somewhat fluid.
2007-01-05, 10:29 AM #76
The warzone mode is exceptionally fun. You typically have a set number on each team, and each have a single life. The goal is to completely annihilate the opposing team down to the very last man.

Warzone + Gridlock = Best gaming experience I've had.

And now I must depart for shower and cinema, but I have to quickly say how much fun that was, and how really easy it was to get going.

Rock.
