College Football National Championship

I saw there was no thread about this, and I said, "There needs to be a thread about this."

If Ohio State play anything like they usually do, I'm pretty sure Florida will get run out of the stadium. Even if they win, Boise State are the real national champions. :P

Suck it, blue!

That second Florida touchdown was a bad call by the officials. His knee was pretty obviously down before he stretched over the goal line. :argh:
2007-01-08, 6:04 PM #11
he was down no question. rediculous
2007-01-08, 6:04 PM #12
Yeah, that was quite the odd call. I mean how much more evidence did they need?

OSU is playing a lot like Notre Dame did in the Sugar Bowl, and with Teddy Ginn Jr. in the locker room, it might not get much better.

I want to know what's wrong with Ginn. If he can't come back, that's a huge loss.

that was stupid, osu

stupid
2007-01-08, 7:09 PM #21
Heh, on the other hand, Ohio State could come out and play like Vanderbilt, and then they'll be the ones that get blown out.

woo! Go gators!

the only reason I'm rooting for them is boise state goes up in the rankings if they win. :D

Realistically, Boise State will probably be ranked in the same place either way. Much as I think they ought to be voted National Champions by default if Florida wins, the polls will probably still rank both teams in this game above them.

Florida will probably fall out of the top five at least if they lost. OSU would probably end up 2 or 3.

Hahahaha. I live in Columbus, Ohio, so we got to see the whole thing.

I was just joking, they didn't actually preempt it here either. Though it would have been a lot more interesting if they had.

The best part is, living in columbus, OSU campus is going to be like revalations.

This is my favorite part.

Florida - OSU
41 - 14
372 yds offense - 82 yds offense

Florida - Vanderbilt
21 - 16
330 yds offense - 391 yds offense

We put up more of a fight against UF than OSU could.
2007-01-08, 9:32 PM #33
Ohio State looked like a teamthat hadn;t played in two months. Oh, that's right. They hadn't played in two months.
Pissed Off?
2007-01-08, 9:32 PM #34
Heh, whats funny is I saw this coming... No one gave Florida a chance, they all said Michigan should be in the game for a re-match, I said Michigan had their shot and blew it, and Florida DOES have a chance, and apparently they did, to the tune of 41-14.

I agree that Boise State should at least have a shot at the championship, but unfortunately the college system sucks and they need some kind of playoff... but thats a discussion that has gone on forever.

I disagree. Boise State played such fearsome teams as the University of Idaho and U of Utah in the WAC. When they play a full season with the big dogs, they deserve a chance at the championship. They should be glad with what they got this season. And this coming from a BSU fan who lives in Boise.

All I can say is that this wasn't the Ohio State team that played against us at Northwestern, or against Michigan.

This was the Ohio State team that played against Illinois.

OSU played terrible. Michigan doesn't impress me because they got wasted by USC, whom I thought was the only team in Division I A that could take OSU on, and as it turns out, Florida stomped OSU. The fact is, most of OSU's season was a bunch of pushovers, and the only two tough teams they played were close games.

Then they played Florida. Everyone said OSU would roll over Florida with no problem. They didn't expect a worthy football team, and what they got was a team every bit as good as they are, and because of that, they lost like crazy. Underestimating a worthy opponent is a one way ticket to another number in the L column.

Florida was obviously a worthy opponent.
