So the can says 2 per day max.
2007-01-11, 10:09 AM #1
So I was gulping down my fourth red bull (sugar free lol) of the day at noon when I decided to read the can because of boredom. Lo and behold I read that the maximum does for an adult should be from 1 to 2 cans a day.

I've been doing some 4 redbulls a day for... a long time.

Is it really that bad? Will I die from the cafeine monster bursting out of my stomach alien style?

I can't stand most energy drinks. They taste really sickly sweet, in my opinion.

I dislike Red Bull, but there's similar stuff around here that does taste good. I can actually drink op tom 8 of those cans a day. I'm crazy.

Four 8oz cans of Red Bull is only 320mg of caffeine. I think you'll be alright.

The only time I've ever liked Red Bull was when I used it in a Bazooka Joe shot.

Suit yourself. Heaven forbid you can't put down that controller or WoW. 4 cans won't do much energy-wise sooner or later.

I think the warning is mostly there because red bull doesn't provide enough water for your body to function right, people have been known to collapse and even die because they drank lots of red bull but zero water.

So basically, as long as you don't excede your caffenine limit and have plenty of water red bull won't cause anymore harm than any other drink, except maybe sleep loss :P

Redbull is a sissy drink. It's never had the same affect on me that things like Monster or Full Throttle do.

*golf clap* How smart of you. I mention WoW in another thread and you associate them with my lack of sleep. I'm sure it can't be the last 60 hours I spent at work in the last three days finishing this 60,000$ job.

No sir.

When I was in grade 9 my English teacher was talking one day about how caffeine works (don't ask me why). I remember him saying something along the lines of the body eventually becoming dependent on caffeine. ie. you need caffeine just to feel normal, and even more caffeine if you want it to work the way it used to (keep you awake). No idea how much truth there is to that, he was an English teacher after all.

$60,000 a year or per contract?

Per contract.

I don't make 60,000$ a year. I'm paid about 35,000$ canadian a year.

The profit goes in my bosses' pockets, perhaps a bit on some cheap bonus, and the rest pays off the material used on the job. (Includes vynil, loss, ink, etc.)

I could not tell you exactly everything the price includes, though, but I've had the bosses annoying me with how much its worth.

I'd be more worried about the sugar and other crap in those drinks than the caffeine. But honestly you'd probably be worse off drinking 4 cans of Coke...

Yes you can be addicted to caffeine. I have been. More specifically, to Excedrin, which is like Red Bull in tablet form. There were days where I would take upwards of 16 Excedrin, plus coffee and red bull.

If I didn't, I would get killer headaches. Ironic, considering what got me addicted was a bout of horrible headaches caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.
Wikissassi sucks.

It takes between 3 and 17 grams, I repeat grams of caffeine to kill a man per day. On average. A few hundred milligrams is nothing.

Yeah, I believe the LD50 is about 10 grams.

However, that doesn't mean that less won't make you sick, or have other side-effects.

Isuwen - Yeah, I recall seeing that Excedrin (an over-the-counter headache medication, for those who aren't aware) contains something like 65 mg of caffeine.

Try Mountain Dew AMP. It's one of the few Energy drinks that I think tastes pretty good.

Almost every time I go home for break or whatever I start getting migraines. Last time we figured out that I'm going through detox from the caffeine withdrawal. I drink multiple cups of coffee a day, be it at work or school. So now we have a small coffee pot at home so I can it while I'm there.
