"Pedophile" is such a loaded word.

Anyway, back to topic. Consumers are wary of a format war, and I doubt either will have wide adoption in the near future. Blu-ray currently seems to have the advantage in terms of support by companies, as well as a more marketable name, but neither will "win" until the choice is forced down consumers' throats. Most people still haven't gotten around to replacing their VHS collections anyway, and would rather stick to DVD as long as possible.

Yeah, but unlike the VHS to DVD change, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD players are going to be able to play DVD. It's not so much a change as it is an upgrade.
