Encounters with a PETA member.
2007-02-07, 7:29 PM #1
Today, I was walking to the Cafe with my friends holding a freshly bought KFC bucket of Hotwing chicken pieces. Right when I was about to open the bucket, some random lady comes and grabs the bucket and throws it into the street gutter, throws some flyers at us showing how KFC chicken gets abused, and dashes off to the other side of the street, goes on the bus just in the nick of time and then the bus goes off.

The guys and I were just standing there totally confused on what just happened. Well we knew we had no chicken to eat, but we were pretty much shocked I guess. We took a look at the flyers on the ground and noticed there was PETA printed at the top of the paper.

After that, we just went to the Cafe to sit down and talk about our project and our hot dates to the Winter formal.

So, has anyone here encountered PETA members?

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in animal abuse because it is inhumane. I believe that there has to be a line drawn some where.

KFC is great. I don't care what they do to their chickens, it's a good treat once in a while.

"N-No it's not!"

Raising chickens in tiny pens, ripping off their beaks so they don't peck each other to death, slaughtering them, pressure cooking their pieces and slathering them in wonderful sauces : NOT ILLEGAL.

Taking someone's property and throwing it in a gutter : ILLEGAL.
Wikissassi sucks.

Yeah, the problem is that PETA members seem to care more about animals than people.

Hmm. They should get some unattractive hairy man and put him on one of those billboards naked instead of those sexy supermodels that would rather pose naked than wear fur...

Really? Running of the Nudes? Nude models in China? Caged naked women painted like tigers? It's pretty common for them.

That's messed.

But still, KFC, their chicken, and their practices is thoroughly disgusting.

But their mashed potatoes are amazing.

someone needs to tell them that KFC gets their chicken from a supplier they don't raise the chickens

and peta should be held accountable for the things done by their members and they owe you a bucket of chicken

never had a confirmed encounter with a peta member... but someone who could have been one for all i know... i was at a buffet grabbing some tasty beef when someone said "did you know a cow had to die for that?" i replied without hesitation "it would taste better if i killed the cow myself"

a friend of mine however got a chance to do what i once told him i would kill to do... find a group of peta member protesting at a mcdonalds and start shouting "SOY IS MURDER!"
eat right, exercise, die anyway
2007-02-07, 11:54 PM #23
i do believe that could be considdered to be theft/assault for someone to grab another person's food and throw it to the ground unless they genuinly believed that if you ate it it would explode or something :ninja:

then again, this is the US i am talking about.

lol, if someone said that to me, I would have said, "you dont say? I thought that they chopped the meat off live cows and it just grew back" in the most sarcastic voice possible, and if they hit me, hello assault and battery charges and money to buy even more meat. ;)

lol amerika has no lawz!

Of course it's theft. Good luck charging someone you only saw for a couple seconds and who made a clean getaway, though.

So, hot chicks made you forget hot chicks? Sounds reasonable.

Am I the only one that finds this incredibly humorous? Not just the thread, but the incident? If only we had an OWNED photo for such an occasion...
2007-02-08, 7:39 AM #28
Well, it's as stupid as it's humorous. What difference does it make whether the chicken was eaten or in the gutter? Moreover, some hungry enough customer might have just turned around and got another bucket to replace the lost one, thus actually increasing the consumption.

I think this lady had eaten too little meat to get enough protein for developing a fully functional brain.

Did you apply the same Michael-Moore logic when you signed up for PETA?

It would have been awesome to catch her and threaten her with bodily harm unless she bought you replacement chicken. Then, she'd have doubled the amount of chicken purchased. NOT HER INTENT AT ALL.

That would have been funny.

That's ridiculous. The chicken is obviously already dead. What is she accomplishing by throwing it away?

Nothing but making the chickens' deaths be worthless. And wasting somebody's money.

I'm not a member of PETA and I'm about as anti Michael Moore as it gets. However, this is still cracking me up. I can almost picture it.

There's nothing funny about it. It's rude and psychotic.

EDIT: And wasteful.
