Do you smoke?
2007-03-11, 6:51 AM #1
What`s your attitude towards smoking?

Like, dislike, love, hate, don`t care?

What do you smoke?

What do you think about smokers?

P.S. Gah, who thought up 5 minutes limit on poll?

Only when I'm set on fire.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Nope.

As for smoking in general, I don't really like or care about it, the smell is kind of nice but petrol/gas smells even better and I wouldn't consume gas like few packs a day.

Many people (mostly stupid (pre-)teens and other idiots) tend to smoke because they want to appear cool and blend into the masses. In fact, probably 100% of those are and remain idiots for the rest of their lives. I guess you can include people who are like "IF SOMEONE'S SMOKING GET OUT OF THE WAY" to the same category, since you could probably say "IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET RAPED STOP HAVING A VAGINA/BUTT" at the same time.

People who smoke to enjoy it and not act like an *** about it are cool, I know many of them and I wouldn't send them to concentration camps unlike some tards.

Oh well.

Well, personally, I`m a big fan... Own a pipe and hookah.

On the other hand, I don`t really like cigars or cigarettes all that much.

(Strangely enough, Rodopi are the only cigarettes I can smoke as is. Others just... bleugh. Bland.)

I don't smoke.

I don't really care if you do or not...just not in my house or in my vehicle.
woot!
2007-03-11, 7:14 AM #8
Heh. Well, my personal preferences (pipe, hookah), are really quite... Unsuitable for outdoors, especialy hookah. Therefore, I smoke at my own home.

And I can understand "no smoking in my car/room" completely.

Though, I have hard time getting it with what`s wrong with smoking on street. Here, it`s not regulated, and I don`t see anyone choking on smoke yet.

Well, in some places in Europe it is. I almost got in trouble in Berlin because of it once.

Yes, Marlboro Lights. I'm proud to be able to categorise myself as a considerate smoker, too, as in I always check with the non-smokers around me if they mind me lighting up before I do so. That being said I'll probably be quitting in the Summer when the public smoking ban starts up here, seeing as how a big part of the enjoyment I get from smoking is when it's with a cold drink.
2007-03-11, 7:27 AM #12
I don't smoke, and I wouldn't mind other people smoking, but especially during summer time when I'd like to keep my balcony door open to get fresh air in, there's almost always also tobacco smoke coming in. Those times my hand is always inching towards my katana and I'm filled by desire to go and lop off some smokers' heads. Too bad that'd be illegal whereas filling my apartment with smoke against my will apparently isn't. Such an unfair world.

Sort of. Though, it must be quite a crowd of smokers to make balcony door so smoke-hazardous... Or they just smoke on nearby balcons, as well?

Smokers piss me off when they do it around me. I'm sick of going places with people and smelling like **** when I arrive.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.
2007-03-11, 7:39 AM #15
I'd assume so. I haven't actually tried to peek where the smoke is coming from. I just close the door when I smell the smoke. I suspect there must be more than one places of origin, though, because I wasn't exaggerating too much when I said it's coming in almost always. This building must have lots of chain smokers.

Or, alternatively, poor ventilation.

I`ve had the misfortune to visit the buildings, which have smoke spreading everywhere within several minutes since it`s appearance.

Seriously. One could smell, if someone on the other side of building opened some cheese. Smoke spread like a fog - instantly through all rooms.

i have a hookah too, but i havent bought any new coals or that sticky tobacco stuff since i first got it a few years ago.
2007-03-11, 7:56 AM #18
Um... Alright.

For further use, it is not necessary to announce you smoke weed, mmkay?

This is only regarding tobacco, not illicit substances. ^_^

sorry ma

what the hell is up with the gooey **** you get in the shisha anyway? its tasty as ****.
2007-03-11, 8:08 AM #20
Oh? Hookah uses fruit extracts and aromatic tobaccos.

It`s tasty, yea, but I won`t recommend eating it. Ostencibly, it has enough of nicotine to give you a nasty poisoning.

Vapors are good though, yes.

Seriously. I asked about tobacco, and I have absolutely no wish to discuss restricted substances. Maybe it`s legal somewhere, but in most of places it`s not, so do yourself a favor, and don`t mention it. OK?

No, but smoking doesn't bother me unless it's when I'm eating, or there are lots of people smoking in a small enclosed space.

I don't smoke. It seems like a bad habit, bad for my health, its gross, and it doesn't smell great. That, and most people I know that smoke want to quit, but can't.

I'd never let someone smoke in my car/house, but if they're smoking outside or something I try to be tolerant of it.

As long as I don't have to smell you or see you then I don't care.

What`s your attitude towards smoking?

I believe that people should have the right to smoke...outdoors or in the privacy of their own home or other smoking establishments. I believe that parents who subject their children to second-hand smoke should have said kids taken away from them for neglect. I also believe that smokers should be knocked to the bottom of most donor lists, which I believe they are much of the time. If you're going to slowly kill yourself on purpose, I would much prefer that someone who isn't trying to do so, come first when it comes to donor parts.

What do you think about smokers?

I myself used to smoke, so I realize how good it feels once you're addicted, to light up a cigarette to calm those nerves. I dislike apathetic people, whether they're apathetic regarding their own health or someone else's, and unfortunately, many smokers, despite their claims, fall in to this category. Most smokers that I know tend to subscribe to idiotic claims such as "everything causes cancer" or "we're all going to die" or "it takes X number of years to develop cancer and I'll quit long before then". However, there are always exceptions, though I would guess they're quite rare in this case.

Please excuse me if I generalize. I've been told that I tend to do that. I see smoking as irrational. When I'm at work and I look out at the smokers in their cage, I often think of them as cattle. Except these cattle aren't being slaughtered, they're slaughtering themselves.
2007-03-11, 10:07 AM #33
Nope. Don't really mind it when other people do it, except when they want to come inside afterwards, and talk to me. Smokes breath = RANCID

No worries about generalisation.

What about - "Yes, I know about the damage, but I don`t care." clause?

It`s just as often.

I smoke very occasionally, usually at parties. Maybe a pack a month or so.

Damn, your as bad as the wankers that make it illegal in the first place. It's a ****ing plant. The only reason any drug is a "restricted substance" is because it undermines the government, as they can't control or make money off it.

Personally, I do smoke the aforementioned, although I really need to quit. Has a real negative impact on cognitive function after a while, and I need to start doing better in school. As for cigarettes, only when I am drunk, or pissed about something.
2007-03-11, 11:27 AM #39
Sigh.

Opium poppy is plant too. So is coca.

Yes, government made them outlawed. Thus, it can be used as leverage. End of story. If it is bad or good, does not even enters this. It`s outlawed, therefore, it can be used as cause.

i like to have a smoke about 5 or 6 times a day.

Quote:
I believe that parents who subject their children to second-hand smoke should have said kids taken away from them for neglect.

what about parents who subject their children to perfume, febreeze, artificial air fresheners, scented detergents and fabric softeners, diesel fumes in urban areas, hydrogen sulphides in urban centers, vucanized rubber particulates in urban centers (in other words parents who take their kids downtown or on the highways and byways in large cities) etc? it's pretty much all the same thing.
and when the kid grows up to be 86 and dies of cancer of the big toe, they'll find out the kid was subjected to second hand smoke once when he was 14 when some rude criminal lit a smoke in the same 30 story builing he was in and they'll put on his death certificate, "cancer caused by second hand smoke (not all the other chemicals he breathed in every single day of his life)."
