When is the last time you gave someone the finger?

Even then, I still can't remember the last time I did that to someone seriously either.

I do get ticked off wirh drivers who don't indicate and almost run me over and the like, i just give them dirty looks instead :P

Maybe the whole wanker hand signal hasn't got to the US yet? (although its been around for ages)

Probably never, it always struck me as something you do when you're completely speechless but want to express some anger/annoyance and i've never really been completely speechless AND angry enough to need to do it

No, the finger is for when they can't hear you expressing yourself. "My windows are up, and your windows are up, and you just sped up to keep me from making a left turn into your lane, which would have made you one car farther from the red light you have to stop at in fifty feet anyway, and now there's no gap and I have to wait for the ****ing light to cycle again and maybe there might be a gap I can pull into then, and since you can't hear me, I'm going to show you my finger. Yeah, that's right, **** you and your little dog too."

You guys need to remember that people from different places have different driving styles. Most outsiders would consider southern California to have terrible, dangerous drivers, but those of us who live here are accustomed to it and participate in it, and there are surprisingly few accidents, considering how many millions of vehicles drive the roads and highways daily. Most of us get ticked off at people with out-of-state plates driving 65mph on the I-15 in the fast lane, even though it's totally and completely within the law.

That being said, I've never seriously, angrily, given anyone the finger.

I don't think I've given the finger to anyone in years.

I gave a girl the finger when she was crossing the lanes in a parking lot and, instead of letting me go (as I was going the right way down a single lane), she turned into my lane headed right for me. Then, instead of stopping and pulling to the side, having realized her mistake, she squeezed past me and acted as if she had the right of way.

Stupid *****. :argh:

I can't recall giving the finger to anyone in recent history. The only dangerous thing I think I've ever done was as follows:
You know when people fake making a turn, going into the turning lane, to try and beat you out at the light and pass you?
Some chick in a Lexus tried to pull that. I wasn't really annoyed, I just knew what she was gonna do and decided it just wasn't gonna happen. So when the light turned green I floored it out.
She was pissed, driving on my *** the next few blocks, and I got the reaction I wanted.

I totally agree with Spe.

The finger just doesn't have enough annoyance in it. It lacks movement.
nope.

Notice that guy in the background just walking across the street through traffic.

That whole going in reverse thing was pretty bad. As is flipping people off. It tends to enrage the other person, and cause them to do stupid stuff also. Maybe you should retake drivers ed? :eng101:

New Mexico drivers are famous for not using their turn signals. If they for some reason *do* use their turn signals, they usually put the wrong one on. As I was leaving a parking lot today, a guy went into the left turn only lane with his left blinker on. I pulled into the right turn only lane with my right blinker on. When the coast was clear, he cut in front of me and flipped me off and his passenger yelled that I needed to learn to drive. I flipped him off for that.

About a year and a half ago, I was crossing the street (green light, walk sign, ect.), and some dumb ***** ran a red light and almost ran me and my room mate over. I kicked her rear fender as she drove by and flipped her the bird.

Got this story second hand:

A guy drove through a crosswalk on a pedestrian campus through a gap in the pedestrians just wide enough to force his truck through. One of the nearby pedestrians happened to have his keys handy, and screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee down the side of the truck as it passed him.

Meh... I'll keep flipping people off if they really deserve it. At least until I get something like this and can be a little more articulate.

I got pissed while playing CS:S, so I flipped them off on screen...

I'm pretty much the same as GreenBoy when it comes to driving. I just chill out and take my time. If hippies wanted to swarm my car and start loving on it, I would just patiently wait for them to finish.

Also, I've never flipped someone off out of anger/annoyance/anything.
