So far, this has been the most convincing argument yet. But, the whole click from gandalf there actually made allot of sense too.
I have decided that a compromise is not to far fetched. It makes since that punctuation and whatnot can help the ease of reading in a text document. However, i reject the idea that speach such as "u" and "lmao" are diminutive to a converstation. I do not use aol and have never cared for it much, but i have run into these terms everywhere. They are familiar and easily recognisable internet "slang" that plenty of people around the world understand because of its wide spread use. Some people may hit somesort of speedbump when they see things like "lol" in text not expecting them, but you would be hard pressed to find anybody on the internet under the age of 80 who didn't know what that meant.
I will make an effort to capitalize, and punctuate, i guess, and i may even try to spell out the word "you" if im in a good enough mood, but i am not ashamed of any "u"s or "lols" or "rofl"s that may slip out if im not paying attention, or just not in the mood to care. It is just the result of spending allot of time online talking to alot of people in what IS becoming the norm of internet lingo.
EDIT: Oh, and i left out the important parts on that quote cus i figured there was a reason it was not posted directly to begin with.
