Agreed Rob! The only time we removed items is for tournies because we wanted the games to be longer.

You can't argue that using items effective doesn't require skill.

So stop trying. I'll beat you to the curb in either game mode, playing with items is just "MORE FUN." You remember fun right? It was that thing video games were created for. It goes hand in hand with VARIETY.

The game is ooooh so much more fun when you don't have a bunch of chickens sitting on either side of the map praying a bob-omb comes their way.

Any half-decent player is going to take the items and pound your face in with them, which is what makes it less fun and more boring. There are tons of 1-hit KO combos you can perform using items. You know, the kind where no matter what you do you're dead?

And everyone of of those combos are hella easy to avoid by chucking stuff back.

Chucking stuff = 1 button press to avoid.

Getting hit by the lightsword only once = you die.

Just use Fox if you don't like people throwing stuff at you and learn how do use his down-B defense well.

Shield button + grab combo

An easy way to two button counter.

Or if you're marth/roy use that nifty counter attack move. (Which I enjoy abusing the hell out of)
