What games are you waiting for?

Mass Effect. Everything else is secondary.

You seem to be confused. Once you get hit by the lightsword, even once, the entire combo can be completed while you are helpless. No skill, grab, shield will help you.

That's why I am saying it's boring.

Brawl is the one game I am waiting for.
Oh, and items = fun.
Lame items = disabled.

Definitely waiting for:
Bioshock
Unreal Tournament 3
(and a Geforce 8800GTS/GTX or some new great graphics card for that matter)

Not really waiting for, but eager to play:

GTA IV
Fallout 3 (yet I should play though 1 and 2 again)
HL2 Episode 2 & 3
Alan Wake

Still waiting for:
Duke Nukem Forever
KotOR 3

Unlikely to be ever seen:
Deus Ex 3 (or just a proper sequel for DX)
A new TIE Fighter game

As usual, I probably forgot something. Ah well.
Star Wars: TODOA | DXN - Deus Ex: Nihilum

I'm waiting for :

Was cheated out of marriage by sugarless

Items add chance to SSB. I don't mind playing without items, but it's much more interesting with items imo. You do require skill to do anything worthwhile with items, just as you require skill to counter them.

Well, certain items anyway. Some are just outright worthless or overly cheap, but a lot are good middle ground tools.

And, for the main topic, Rock Band sounds like it will be interesting, though probably pricey.
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

I'm sorry, but theres no way in hell that a 3 button combo from the lightsword can kill you if you have a low percentage value. If it's a high one, you deserves to lose a point/a life/coins.
nope.

It's not new, but I just finished SW Lego II, and that was the most fun I've had with a game in a long time. I'm looking forward to buying the first one.

Three button? Far more than that. It's closer to a 12 hit combo that'll get you above 150% and off the edge in no time.

this year is gonna be crazy for video games, but they are getting released this fall, i think a bunch of great games are going to be overlooked. IGN wrote an article about it as follows if you want to read (its insider material)

Quote:
Roundtable# 198: The Fall Explosion
Some games are going to be left behind.
by David Clayman

April 30, 2007 - The editors had a grim realization this week. There is absolutely no way to play all of the great games coming out this fall. This holiday season is beyond saturated and when it comes down to it some games are going to fall to the wayside. Which titles will be the winners and which might be the biggest and most unfortunate busts? List four or five games you'll definitely pick up. What great games are going to get ignored? Here are just a few of the enticing games coming at us this Fall submitted by the editors for that channel:

These are hot game picks for each system submitted by editors. This is not indicative of exclusives or necessarily representative of actual release dates.

And last but not least, Home

Jessica Chobot, IGN Weekly: They came to that realization THIS MORNING?!? Dude, I've been struggling w/ that since I started working here.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll edit this once I give the PC list more thought and after everyone else turns in their lists, but as for the 360 slot:

- Mercenaries II
- GH III (maybe)
- Devil May Cry 4
- Lost Odyssey
- Halo 3 (even thought I hate shooters, but to be a well-rounded individual, I should check it out).

Stephen Ng, IGN FAQs: I'm personally wary about all items, until I've first hand experience with them.

It's one thing to get a feeling about something from "everyone else", but another to be a mindless INT 0, POW 0, mind-slave enthralled to hyped. Sanity cost 1/1D4.

Jon Miller, IGN Xbox 360: This is the hardest thing about working here. Too many great games. And the coffee machine is broken again.

- Mass Effect
- Halo 3
- GTA IV
- Madden 08
- Half Life 2 Orange Box

But really, there's no way I'm missing SC5, BioShock, GH3, BIA, Burnout 5, Assassin's Creed, Skate or COD4, so whatever.

Dan Adams, IGN PC: Who you should be really sorry for are the poor guys that don't ever get games for free. How many people really have hundreds of dollars to play games?

Madden for many and then maybe one or two others. Probably Halo 3, GTA IV, and maybe a couple of others. But there are going to be so many games left in the dust that would normally do well. We're talking games like Stranglehold, BlackSite: Area 51, Medal of Honor, Jericho, Frontlines... and you may even see some of the bigger games tank a bit simply because there's too many to fight against. People love Splinter Cell, but will it win out against Halo 3, GTA, and Spore? Same with Brothers in Arms, The Witcher, and TimeShift. It seems like craziness to try and bring a game that doesn't have the hype and/or franchise out this season. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but a lot of these games better hope for success over the long run rather than right up front.

If I had to choose through all those games given a generous budget of money and time that allows for 10 new games, that's leaving a good 35-40 games that I can't buy (nor have the time to play even with it as my job) and how many people really allow themselves to buy 10 games in a season? There's going to be some surprising losers this year and it seems like the little guys aren't going to have a chance in hell to somehow strike a hit. It's sad that publishers have pigeonholed themselves into the holiday season when this summer we're basically going to be sitting around twiddling our thumbs.

Stephen Ng, IGN FAQS: Dan has a point -- sometimes we forget that most people actually have to drop $50 of their hard-earned money on something we can write off as a business expense (or if not reimbursed, our 1040s). But that's what our reviews are for. Still, among games that rank a 9+ (the only rank that matters for those with tight budgets), you should simply by the game(s) you aim to play for a while. It's useless to buy something simply because "it scored a 9; it's gotta be good".

David Clayman, IGN Insider: Every year I hope for a great summer release and every year the one game I thought would get me through the doldrums of July and August gets pushed back to fall. I know the holiday season is a lucrative time for publishers but people only have so much money. Why does everything get lumped together? Didn't anyone pay attention to Lost Planet? It skipped the holiday rush and came out in January. It also sold 328,000 copies that month, beating Guitar Hero II, Gears of War, WarioWare, and Twilight Princess.

Anyway, I'll be putting my money towards BioShock, Mass Effect, Crysis, Spore, and Mario Galaxy. Basically, this year I'm skipping the sequels and trying out a bunch of new stuff. Halo 3 would be on my list but I don't base my fandom on rumor and speculation. From what I've seen that game looks like Halo 2.5 with bubble shields. I've never been a big GTA fan but that trailer roped me in and I'm probably going to fit that in somewhere.

When I look over those lists I see plenty of really good games that are going to get skipped over. I can't blame consumers because there's just too much to choose from. However I can blame the publishers. I know that the higher ups at a lot of these companies refuse to budge from their "go big at Christmas" yearly plan. But you only have to know that Halo 3, GTA IV, and Mario are hitting the big three consoles at the same time to reconsider that plan. How many games do people buy on average from September to December? Do I save the money I would've spent in July for a game that comes out three months later? No, I spend it on something else.
Michael Pereira, IGN Database: I am skipping Crysis for the simple fact that it would melt my current computer in a firey explosion and cause an epic blackout in the greater SF area. Its time will come 4 years from now...

I will play everything else though. Because I don't sleep.

Tyson Root, IGN Video: Honestly, Im not that concerned about the influx of great games coming out this fall. Personally, the only gaming platform I have working for me is PC. I will definitely be picking up Quake Wars, BioShock and Spore. As for the other platforms and games, I'm fortunate enough to be living with a guy who not only owns EVERY SINGLE GAMING CONSOLE, but also gets any game he wants for free. I think several of you know him. Now if only he trusted me with his electronics. Then I'd be set.
Stephen Ng, IGN FAQs: I hit the EBG yesterday (Monday April 23rd) and Zelda Phantom Hourglass (DS) is Septmber or "there abouts". I think it might be a Winter thing for Nintendo's DS, but for sure, I won't have time for it. I wonder what new toys will be in SVM for Splinter Cell 5.

Mark Ryan Sallee, IGN Guides: The only games I'm really looking forward to are Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3. Hopefully they'll release this year, or I'll be playing games I only sort of care about.

Bioshock definitely looks interesting, so it's on my radar and I'd like to give it a play. As well, I never played Half-Life 2 (don't like PCs!) so I'd like to give that a try when it comes out on 360 later this year. And maybe I want to play Devil May Cry 4? I really like the third Devil May Cry, but I haven't even finished that one. Meh.

Though if Metal Gear Solid 4 actually releases this year, then I'll have something else to really look forward to. Too bad I don't have--nor ever will have--a PlayStation 3.

Daemon Hatfield, IGN News: Publishers could very well decide they over saturated the market this year if key titles don't do as well as they hope, resulting in fewer titles over the next couple years.

I think Halo 3 will sell a few more 360s, so you'll have a bunch of new 360 owners come Christmas who want something new to play in between games of Halo. It could be PS3, Wii, and PC games that get looked over.

Eduardo Vasconcellos, IGN Video: It's looking like it's going to be a bit of a double edged sword this fall as far as games go. There are a lot of games that I'm really looking forward to: Devil May Cry 4, Mass Effect, Halo 3, BioShock, Half-Life 2 - Episode 2, Blue Dragon, Ace Combat 6, Too Human, etc...

I'll have a great library of games to choose from, but at the same time, I'm going to have to shell out some cash for many of them, and that's going to hurt my wallet. I'll be really upset if Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out this year; if that's the case, I'll probably have to buy a stupid PS3 so I can play the game because I'm too impatient to wait for an Xbox 360 version, if and when it ever comes out.

I'll be broke man, BROKE! It's looking like my family is just getting mixtapes from me this Christmas...

Erik Brudvig, IGN Xbox 360: It would be pretty sad if some of these titles get overlooked this fall, but it appears inevitable. The juggernauts aren't going anywhere and unless we see a drastic spike in hardware sales, some great games aren't going to get the sales numbers they normally would.

Although GTA IV might be the biggest game coming out this year, I'll probably give it a pass. None of the other GTA games have done it for me, so I doubt this one will be any different. Normally I'd give it a try but...

There's Halo 3, Mass Effect, BioShock, Blue Dragon, Rock Band, and Guitar Hero III. That right there is enough for the entire fall and winter for most gamers.

This is easily one of the best years for gaming I can think of.

Yes. Very interesting, but I thought it sucked for the most part.

The best part of fallout is its story, dialog, and player interaction with the world, which can't be judged by the tech demo. That just leaves the graphics and user interface to look at... both of which I thought kind of sucked even by 2004 standards. At 2007, I think developers have gotten a little smarter with what works and what doesn't work in CRPGs, especially Bethesda, so they are probably the best choice for F3, as long as they keep the story and dialog as good as the original.

I'm not waiting for any games. There are games I'd love to play that will be coming out over the next year or so, but since I've got access to none of the systems to play them then I can't muster up anything more for them than a vague interest.

Why do game companies always insist releasing their games in the fall? It's idiotic. It's just when people run of of the time and money to actually play games. Christmas, or the beginning of summer I could see, but Fall is an awful time to release a game. Even Christmas is stupid. We get no games all Summer long.
