France has a high voter turnout.

A French riot? Again?

I'm beginning to think that all these people need is baseball or something to occupy their free time.

I like the fact that it says, "Riot police in Paris fired tear gas into crowds which gathered after Nicolas Sarkozy's presidential election victory." followed by a picture of the president giving a thumbs-up.

They thing they don't point out there is that they had freaking riot police out in the streets a few hours before the bloke was announced as the winner of the election.

I mean if you stick riot police out in the streets, well thats an incentive to riot.

Okay, a guy is elected who publicly called the French immigrants (the guys who were rioting the first time) "scum" and vowed to "clean out" the ghettos. Another riot shouldn't come as a terrible surprise :P

I read in a paper once that the French were polled on their dislikes. The top two results were:

1) Racism
2) Arabs
