Massassi Amateur Film Competition

Now that many of us are finishing up with school at least for the summer, and many others seem to have an abundance of free time, I was thinking that it might be fun to have some kind of an amateur film contest, where you would have the summer to write and produce a short amateur film and then showcase it here on the forums. I know there are quite a few talented people out there, and I think if enough people were interested it could be a really fun experience.

So, how many people would be interested in participating in something like this?

It sounds like a great big bunch of I don't feel like it.


Heres what it'll boil down to;


There are only three people that'll really submit anything when it comes down to it.

Kirby, Cazor, and Sajn_Fatster.

Cazor will win because everyone here is after his poll.

Kirby will make a movie in a video game, with what he thinks has wit, charm and humor. It will approprietly fall flat like a pretentious fat suicide victim.

No one will care what Sajn_Fatster contributes. No one likes him.

I am interested but Rob is probably right. But I have some very good excuses why I won't be contributing:

1) I have no camera. No camera, no movie.
2) Making the movie in English would make your ears bleed.
3) No time. :(
4) The crew is strewn all over the country.

But I could perhaps upload an old movie that we made. We did it for English classes so you could even understand it more or less.

I had this idea few months ago. But as Rob said. We're lazy. My friends and I however are going to be making a film of sorts in a few weeks. If that counts, then I'm in.

And just because it was fun to make, this is one of my friends and I made for a 24 hr film festival. There are two Massassians in this :ninja:

I voted no I hate fun mainly because I wouldn't be creating one myself but I think its a good idea and would be interested to see what everyone comes up with.

i could possibly enter... but my video would be poorly filmed with [fecal matter] acting and would have the worst editing ever

i'd probably also manage to screw up the audio sync

My only "video camera" is my still cam that can take video. Best it can do is 320x240 at 30 fps. If we're going for youtube style I'm in.

I still think we should have a massassi movie, where we all write a script, and film the parts of it ourselves, and then edit it together.

Example: There could be a scene where I am arguing with Chaz and Aglar. So I film my parts, and they film theirs, and then we all send it to someone coughcazorcough to edit together.

And then we'll have made a movie!

Perhaps rather than having a scripted, story-driven film, we should choose a topic, and create short clips or commercials for the given topic. 60 second commercial spots would be fun.

We should compile a big long Bohemian Rhapsody video, with each word/phrase done by a different person. I would edit it all together if we get enough people doing their part.

[Or perhaps a shorter song, Bo Rhap is pretty damn long. Something classy, though, not some new modern trash.]

I like the 60 second commercial idea. It's nice and short so more people would probably be able to actually finish it.

I liked the idea of everyone doing individual short clips to tell one larger story. Maybe not for a competition, but it might be a neat little project, even if it never gets finished.

I think vignettes on a theme is a better idea. It gives more freedom, and freedom is what is going to keep people in.

Hmmm, I saw the two topics "Sister in a porn movie." and "Massassi Amateur Film Competition" and combined them. Ending up with Massassi Amateur Porn Competition scared me, since 99% of the population here is male.
