I remember when I was like 13 I told someone I wanted Falling Away From Me by Korn played at my funeral.

Beating me down,
Beating me, beating me down
Into the ground.

Good times.

I think of Another One Bites the Dust as more of a wedding song.

either "Quiet Please, there's a Lady on Stage" from the Boy from Oz (here's the general meat of the song, it's a lot of repetition

Quote:
Quiet please, there's a lady on stage.
Conductor, turn the final page.
When it's over, we can all go home.
She lives on on the stage alone.

So put your hands together, help her along,
All that's left of the singers, all that's left of the song.
Stand for the ovation,
And give her one last celebration.

or You May be Right for no particular reason

Quote:
You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for
Turn out the light
Don't try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right

or "I Wish you Peace" by the Eagles

Quote:
I wish you peace when the cold winds blow
Warmed by the fire's glow
I wish you comfort in the, the lonely time
And arms to hold you when you ache inside

I wish you hope when things are going bad
Kind words when times are sad
I wish you shelter from the, the raging wind
Cooling waters at the fever's end

I wish you peace when times are hard
The light to guide you through the dark
And when storms are high and your, your dreams are low

I wish you the strength to let love grow on,
I wish you the strength to let love flow,

you know, my funeral song depends on the day, so I don't know, but I definitely listen to a song and go "awesome, I want that sung at my funeral"
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

In all honesty, I'd quite like Desperado by The Eagles, just because it's a kickass tune.
nope.

I like that one a lot too - I like "The Last Resort" as well but that's just too damn sad

David Gilmour - There's No Way Out Of Here
Quote:
There's no way out of here, when you come in you're in for good
There was no promise made, the part you played, the chance you took
There are no boundaries set, the time and yet you waste it still

So it slips through your hands like grains of sand, you watch it go
There's no time to be lost, you'll pay the cost so get it right
There's no way out of here, when you come in you're in for good

And never was there an answer, there an answer
Not without listening, without seeing

There are no answers here, when you look out you don't see in
There was no promise made, the part you played, the chance you took
There's no way out of here, when you come in you're in for good
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

You don't hear it in TV shows here in the states, just in movies set in the 50s and 60s.

I was thinking about this this morning, actually, and there is only one song I want played at my funeral.

As the coffin is leaving the building to head towards the grave, the speakers blaze to life, horns and trumpets blast, and the Imperial March begins.
