HD matters...but not that much, especially when your system is barely more powerful than your previous one (which wasn't really meant for hd either).

Well, for one, the main reason I refuse to even consider buying a Wii is because it has no HD support.

Yes it does >.>

480p is HD, you won't see your average standard-def TV doing 480p.

Just say you're a graphics whore and get over it :p

I don't even know if the Wii can be compared to the 360, I consider the Wii more of a novelty than an actual console.

Wii does 480P

i'm debating on selling my 360 that i have now to knock some of the sting off of the 360 elite. i want one of those things badly.

edit: the wii is a great console; it is just different. but, different is good. i have still only see 3 wii's on the shelves of local stores; and i bought 1 the second time i saw one. the games are geared in a different direction, but i have my 360 for all the insane hd goodness that i crave. that being said, i feel that the wii has the ability to generate a lot of fun when you have people playing against you. it reminds me of the days of setting up xboxes on lans, only you're trying to play a game while not swatting the person next to you.

but, i still love my 360 more than the wii. i think they compliment each other nicely, though.

Well how very sad for you.
You can't judge a book by it's file size

480p is SDTV.
nope.
2007-07-15, 5:03 PM #51
Like several people said, 480p is not HD. HD is defined to be 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.
2007-07-15, 5:07 PM #52
If it's not HD then why is it only viewable on HD-capable TVs?

Okay, so technically it's "EDTV". But seeing as you need an HDTV to view it...
2007-07-15, 5:14 PM #53
Actually, there are EDTVs. They're usually capable up to 576p.

640x480 is not HD. And neither is the wide version of it. Seriously, 640x480?
2007-07-15, 6:21 PM #55
Yeah, thats called VGA.
